<p>
Position Description<br>
Scribe medical reports for inclusion in the patient's medical record under the supervision of the physician/mid-level provider. Assist in accurately documenting office visits, office procedures, in office administration of medications, etc. including examination, diagnosis and follow-up instructions as directed by the provider. Enter verbal orders for labs, imaging, medications and surgical procedures as directed by the provider.</p>
<p>
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant and/or medical terminology knowledge preferred.</p>
<p>
Above average typing skills required.</p>
<p>
Essential Functions:</p>
<p>
Communicate to manager issues relating to scribing (e.g., new canned text that has been developed, an issue a physician may be having, etc.) as needed and in transcription meetings. Assist in the development of policies and procedures for the transcription area.</p>
<p>
Perform quality reviews to provide feedback to manager and Director for continuous improvement. This includes tracking of character counts, turn-around times by work type, , and other reports to support daily input/output.</p>
<p>
Coordinate the training of new scribe&rsquo;s and provide necessary support for their growth and development. Assist physicians in creating and updating canned text, as appropriate.</p>
<p>
Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.</p>
<p>
Follows the Hospital Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Plans, attends all required Safety training programs, and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards.</p></div>
