Practice Area: Family and Matrimonial LawOverviewOur client, a well-established family law firm, is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience representing clients in complex family and matrimonial matters, including divorce, custody, alimony/spousal support, child support, and related proceedings.This role requires a compassionate yet assertive advocate who can navigate emotionally charged situations with professionalism, composure, and exceptional communication skills.*Requires occasional appearance in Essex County court. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Represent clients in a variety of family law matters, including prenuptial/postnuptial/cohabitation agreements, divorce, custody, and support proceedings.</li><li>Conduct investigations, discovery, negotiations, motion advocacy, and trials.</li><li>Develop and execute legal strategies to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.</li><li>Serve as the primary client contact, providing clear communication and sound legal advice throughout the process.</li><li>Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, and judgments.</li><li>Oversee and mentor associates and paralegals, fostering professional growth and maintaining high performance standards.</li><li>Utilize firm resources effectively to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient case management.</li><li>Remain current on all family and matrimonial law developments and CLE requirements.</li><li>Maintain accurate time entries and case documentation.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing.</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of family law experience, including no fewer than 10 trials.</li><li>Certified Divorce Specialist&trade; or willingness to obtain certification.</li><li>Completion (or willingness to complete) 30 hours of basic mediation training or 15 hours of Collaborative Divorce training.</li><li>Excellent negotiation, analytical, and courtroom skills.</li><li>Strong communication and client relationship abilities.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Westlaw/LexisNexis, and Google Workspace; familiarity with CLIO Grow, CLIO Manage, and Family Law Software preferred.</li></ul>This is an exceptional opportunity to join a respected family law practice, make a meaningful impact on clients&rsquo; lives, and grow within a supportive, high-performing legal team.Job Type: Full-timePay: $135,000.00 - $217,500.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Parental leave</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in New York, NY 10040
