Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. Your expertise in medical administrative support, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and understanding of medical terminology will be instrumental in maintaining smooth clinic operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care while honing your skills in medical billing, coding, and office management.Duties<ul><li>Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism and efficiency</li><li>Schedule appointments using clinic management software such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth, ensuring optimal flow of patient visits</li><li>Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes accurately</li><li>Collect and process patient payments, including co-pays and outstanding balances, utilizing medical billing systems and collections procedures</li><li>Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and EHR system standards</li><li>Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD-9/10 diagnosis codes, and care plans</li><li>Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and providing exceptional customer service</li><li>Assist with medical scheduling, appointment reminders, and follow-up communications to enhance patient experience</li><li>Support clinical staff by managing clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining organized medical records</li><li>Ensure clinic operations run smoothly by managing front desk responsibilities like intake procedures, filing, and office management tasks</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office administrative role with clinic experience or dental office experience preferred</li><li>Strong computer skills with proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems compulink</li><li>Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures necessary for accurate documentation review and coding practices</li><li>Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times</li><li>Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks</li><li>Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively</li><li>Strong communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for handling inquiries from patients and providers alike</li><li>Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly demeanor</li><li>Prior experience working with health information management systems like Athenahealth or hospital experience is advantageous</li><li>Familiarity with dental terminology and dental office software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is preferred for dental clinics</li></ul>Join our team as a Medical Receptionist to make a meaningful difference in patients&rsquo; healthcare journeys!
