Position Summary</div><div><br>
F5 is seeking a skilled Software Engineer III to contribute to the delivery of F5&rsquo;s AI Gateway and its integrations across F5&rsquo;s existing hardware, software, and hybrid offerings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, curiosity to explore new domains, and the ability to design and build reliable, scalable systems in a collaborative environment.</div><div><br>
This role involves working on distributed systems and hybrid deployment models while balancing tradeoffs between monolithic and microservice architectures. The engineer will work closely with senior technical staff and architects to implement systems that can be consumed across a range of new and legacy platforms.</div><div><br>
Primary Responsibilities</div><ul><li><br>
Design, implement, and test components of large-scale distributed systems.</li><li>Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, and other engineers to define and deliver features.</li><li>Develop software components primarily in Go, with flexibility to use other languages as needed.</li><li>Write and maintain technical documentation for internal developers.</li><li>Participate in design and code reviews, ensuring adherence to quality and performance standards.</li><li>Partner with project managers to estimate tasks, assess risks, and discuss tradeoffs in scope and timeline.</li><li>Support the development and continuous improvement of CI/CD, testing, and observability practices.</li></ul><div></div><div>

Essential</i></div><ul><li>Strong proficiency in the Go programming language.</li><li>Experience with containerization and cloud-native deployment practices.</li><li>Solid understanding of operating system fundamentals, Linux networking, and load balancing concepts.</li><li>Experience building, testing, and debugging distributed systems.</li><li>Familiarity with API design and consumption using HTTP and gRPC.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics in business terms.</li><li>Comfort working asynchronously in a globally distributed team.</li></ul><div><i><br>

1. Leads, develops, and guides other data engineers on the team and supports<br>
their career growth.<br>
2. Receives objective-based assignments and uses knowledge in data engineering<br>
to determine resources to meet schedules and goals. Designs and implements<br>
data pipelines for complex data processing tasks and analyzes and optimizes<br>
data pipeline performance and reliability, working with Product and Analytics<br>
teams to ensure alignment.<br>
3. Support Product managers implementing strategic direction on large scale<br>
business problems by engaging broadly across F5 to understand customer and<br>
business problems, identify gaps, and guide by prioritizing business<br>
opportunities that tie customer&rsquo;s experience to insights gathered by data<br>
analytics, enabled by the data engineering function. Synthesizes business<br>
challenges from multiple business domains into delivery plans on how to<br>
address leveraging data engineering.<br>
4. Supports Solution Owners in coordinating and organizing data engineering<br>
projects from conception to completion. Ensures data quality, data<br>
accessibility, and the use of proper tools and technology to develop and deploy<br>
data pipelines, design and implement data storage solutions, and optimize data<br>
storage and retrieval processes to support the needs of various teams.<br>
5. Interacts frequently with data engineering professionals, provides technical<br>
leadership, and learns and partners with other F5 teams. Partners with Product,<br>
