<div>Performs professional duties and technical procedures of the particular area of specialty to provide examination and treatment of patients. Orders and analyzes appropriate tests and procedures to provide information on patient&rsquo;s condition; and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
<ul>
<li>Reviews patients file/record including allergies, medical problems, medications, and immunization status.</li>
<li>Interviews patients for health history. Obtains thorough medical histories to include allergies, past medical conditions, current meds, review of systems, family history, social history, and present illness.</li>
<li>Examines patients for symptoms or physical information.</li>
<li>Orders and executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient&rsquo;s condition.</li>
<li>Analyzes report and findings of tests and examination and diagnoses condition of patient.</li>
<li>Prescribes and administers treatments. Determines and prescribes medication, dosage, and schedule given the patient&rsquo;s conditions and allergies. Discusses any possible side effects to medication or immunization with patient.</li>
<li>Answers patient calls promptly; researches, investigates, and resolves patient problems to the satisfaction of the patient.</li>
<li>Documents the patient&rsquo;s visit including medical history, physical exam, diagnoses, and plan of action</li></ul> 
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
<ul>
<li>Doctoral degree in Medicine in vascular surgery</li>
<li>3-5 years of clinical experience</li>
<li>CPR required</li>
<li>BLS required</li>
<li>ACLS and/or other relevant certification as required by the department</li>
<li>Board certification/eligibility in area of specialty</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to promote professionalism through involvement in professional organizations, teaching, research, and/or publishing</li>
<li>Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient&rsquo;s requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age specific need</li>
<li>Highly effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, patient&rsquo;s families, departmental units, and medical and nursing staff on all essential matters</li> 
</ul>
Total Rewards 
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland&rsquo;s Faculty Physician&rsquo;s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
