<div>Performs the full range of professional duties required to support complex financial systems divisionwide including security, configuration, maintenance, enhancements, and problem determination; performs related financial activities involving the analysis and review of various divisionwide accounts.</div>
</div><div><p><b>Qualifications</b></p>
<div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Required</b></h3><ul><li>
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, information systems, or a related field.</li><li>
Four (4) years of experience in financial systems, accounting, budget analysis, or financial management.<ul><li>
Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.</li></ul></li><li>
Knowledge of the theory, methods, principles, and practices of accounting and generally accepted accounting principles.</li><li>
Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate financial and administrative data to develop and generate reports for financial decision-making.</li><li>
Familiarity with governmental financial automated systems.</li><li>
Ability to effectively use automated financial systems.</li><li>
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Preferred</b></h3><ul><li>

</div><div><p><b>Major Duties/Essential Functions</b></p>
<div><ul><li>Oversees the performance of financial systems and resolves system-related problems.</li><li>
Works with customers, departments, and agencies to evaluate, recommend, implement, and test system enhancements or upgrades.</li><li>
Maintains user accounts and security; designs and develops reports.</li><li>
Manages data, performs software testing; performs acceptance testing, and acts as school system liaison with the county to ensure user requirements are met.</li><li>
Ensures the integrity of the finance, accounting, and budget data and records.</li><li>
Oversees reconciliation of monthly financial reports and recommends necessary budget adjustments to meet operating needs.</li><li>
Performs a wide range of financial accounting and related budget tasks for the division.</li><li>
Conducts research and analysis of finance, budgeting, and/or procurement issues to be used to formulate management decisions.</li><li>
Provides technical advice and assistance in financial matters divisionwide.</li><li>
Reviews and approves financial data interfaces from major subsystems such as payroll and food services.</li><li>
Coordinates fiscal month and year-end closing activities including monitoring the status of major financial processes and transactions such as carryover.</li><li>
Provides backup support for user training and helpdesk functions.</li><li>
Performs related duties as required or assigned.</li></ul></div>

<div>This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.</div>
