Job Purpose
To assist the dentist effectively and efficiently in providing dental care to patients and to promote Familia Dental&rsquo;s culture and mission and values.
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Welcome and escort patient in a professional and friendly manner from reception area to and from the treatment areas.</li><li>
Ensure treatment rooms are equipped and stocked with inventory and re-order when necessary.</li><li>
Take and record patient&rsquo;s medical and dental histories and vital signs, blood pressure &amp; pulse.</li><li>
Document/chart all dental procedures performed during each patient visit per Dentist&rsquo;s instructions and legal requirements.</li><li>
Take and develop dental diagnostic x-rays.</li><li>
Pour and base diagnostic models and fabricate temporary restorations &ndash; as allowed by state law.</li><li>
Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials and assist Dentist during dental procedures.</li><li>
Effectively provide dental education and information to patients to ensure patient awareness of dental health, and oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling).</li><li>
Notify Office Manager of equipment trouble or general safety concerns</li><li>
Attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews and regular office meetings.</li><li>
Recognize and be sensitives to patients&rsquo; emotions</li><li>
Understand and follow company policy and procedures</li><li>
Understand and follow state and federal laws related to a dental office</li><li>
Other tasks as assigned.</li></ul>
Requirements:

Qualifications/Skill Sets<ul><li>
Exceptional customer/patient service skills</li><li>
Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills</li><li>
Basic computer knowledge and experience with dental management software experience. Denticon experience is preferred.</li><li>
Ability to work in fast paced, patient-focused environment.</li><li>
Detail oriented.</li><li>
Able to carry out written and verbal instructions</li><li>
Organizational and time management skills</li><li>
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively</li><li>
Meet state requirements for DA duties, continuing education, or license; Basic Life Support (BLS), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate, and radiography certificate</li><li>
Dental assisting experience is preferred, but not required.</li><li>
Experience working within healthcare or related field strongly preferred</li></ul>

Availability / Schedule:
Working hours between: M-F, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM and Sat, 9:00AM - 4:00 PM<ul><li>
Part time employment:</li><li>
2+ days a week, 29 hours or less per week</li><li>
available to work Saturdays, when needed</li><li>
multiple half day shifts or fewer full day shifts</li></ul></div>
