POSITION SUMMARY:The Dentist is responsible for the full range of dental care and education provided to patients, including prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, injury, and deformities of the oral cavity. Partnering with hygienists, assistants, and other team members to provide comprehensive oral health care to patients.Team members are expected to uphold the health center mission by assuring that patients receive health care that is competent, caring, and meets with a high degree of satisfaction.ESSENTIAL DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:Clinical Responsibilities<ul><li>1Conduct thorough dental examinations and assessments for patients of all ages in accordance with accepted treatment standards.</li><li>Diagnoses and develops treatment plans for patients.</li><li>Perform a range of dental procedures including but not limited to fillings, extractions, crowns, and dentures.</li><li>Utilize imaging technologies to diagnose and treat dental conditions effectively.</li><li>Provide preventive care advice and education to patients regarding best oral hygiene practices.</li><li>Provide instructions on dental care as well as administering medication and prescriptions for patients.</li></ul>Administrative Responsibilities<ul><li>Maintain an acceptable level of visit productivity as per HRSA standards of 16 average visits per 8-hour day.</li><li>Maintain, complete, and sign all electronic patient records and check for accurate charting and progress notes.</li><li>Provide detailed and accurate dental records</li></ul>General Responsibilities<ul><li>Collaborate with dental hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff to optimize patient flow and care.</li><li>Stay current with advancements in dentistry through continuing education, conferences and training in dental public health.</li><li>Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and best practices in accordance with CDC and OSHA standards.</li><li>Understand the organization's commitment to provide high quality patient care.</li><li>Promote a patient-centered environment.</li></ul>EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS: Candidates should possess a diverse range of skills and experience including but not limited to:Required Education and Experience <ul><li>DDS or DMD from an accredited university.</li><li>Hold current Dental license in good standing for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania</li><li>Current Federal DEA License</li></ul>Required Skills and Abilities<ul><li>Ability to provide compassionate care while managing diverse patient needs.</li><li>Experience with restoration and replacement of teeth damaged from decay, trauma, or disease.</li><li>Have an interest in and commitment to public health dentistry</li><li>Show ongoing involvement in community outreach and education.</li><li>Ethical patient-centric provider</li><li>Team-Oriented</li><li>Great work ethic, motivated for success</li></ul>Lifting RequirementsLIGHT &ndash; Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
