This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills across diverse medical specialties, including dermatology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, and hospital medicine.Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist with patient intake processes, including gathering medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.</li><li>Prepare examination rooms by ensuring cleanliness, sterilization, and proper setup of necessary equipment like X-ray machines or other diagnostic tools.</li><li>Support physicians during procedures by handing instruments, administering medications under supervision, and assisting with minor surgical or dermatological treatments.</li><li>Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately by documenting patient information, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), treatment notes, and medication administration details.</li><li>Perform basic life support (BLS) procedures when necessary and respond effectively to emergency situations within hospital or clinic environments.</li><li>Conduct patient education on treatment plans, medication instructions, and follow-up care to promote health literacy and compliance.</li><li>Support administrative functions such as appointment scheduling, insurance verification, data entry, and maintaining organized patient records to ensure seamless clinic operations.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient or inpatient settings; experience in hospital environments or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable.</li><li>Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across various specialties including dermatology, geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or medical-surgical units.</li><li>Familiarity with EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient encounters and ICD coding for billing purposes.</li><li>Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as X-ray operation or medication administration are advantageous.</li><li>Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence; ability to handle diverse clinical situations efficiently.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as urgent care clinics or emergency medicine departments.</li><li>Hospital experience or clinic experience in outpatient settings preferred; familiarity with Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is a plus.
