POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance &amp; Transportation Worker is responsible for supporting the daily operational needs of the clinic through facility maintenance, equipment upkeep, and transportation services. This role requires a high level of independence, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to travel long distances to rural locations safely and independently.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, functional, and compliant healthcare environment for patients and staff. 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintenance &amp; Facilities Support
1. Perform routine facility maintenance and repairs, including minor plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and carpentry work.
2. Assemble, install, and move office and medical furniture (desks, exam tables, shelving, cabinets, etc.).
3. Hang wall-mounted items such as whiteboards, televisions, artwork, signage, shelving, and safety equipment.
4. Perform interior and exterior painting and touch-up work as needed.
5. Repair doors, locks, door hardware, and basic structural components.
6. Conduct routine inspections of clinic facilities and report safety concerns.
7. Operate maintenance tools and power equipment safely and effectively.
8. Assist with preventative maintenance of HVAC systems, generators, and other building systems (as trained).
9. Maintain grounds as needed, including debris removal and basic landscaping support.
10. Respond promptly to facility-related emergencies, including water leaks, spills, and safety hazards.
11. Clean and disinfect biohazard materials, including bodily fluids such as patient vomit or spills, in accordance with infection control standards.
12. Ensure all work complies with OSHA standards and workplace safety regulations.
13. Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and submit requests for replenishment.
14. Assist with clinic remodels, room reconfigurations, and equipment installations. 
Transportation &amp; Patient Support
1. Safely transport patients to and from clinic appointments, including pickups from rural and remote areas.
2. Travel long distances independently, often to isolated locations, while maintaining safety and professionalism.
3. Provide courteous, respectful, and supportive interactions with patients during transport.
4. Assist patients in and out of vehicles as needed, while following safety and mobility protocols.
5. Ensure vehicles are clean, sanitary, and ready for patient transport always.
6. Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations during all patient interactions.
7. Conduct pharmacy medication runs as needed to support patient care and clinic operations.
8. Perform routine vehicle inspections (fuel levels, tire pressure, cleanliness, maintenance needs) and report concerns promptly.
9. Maintain accurate mileage logs and transport documentation.
10. Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and organizational policies. 
 ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. May be required to provide emergency assistance to agency vehicles as needed.
1. Periodically tests all emergency systems.
2. Provides back-up to Nutrition Coordinator to transport participants of Senior Nutrition Program, as outlined in organization&rsquo;s Policies and Procedures.
3. Maintains a current CPR certificate.
4. Attends all trainings and meetings as required.
5. Performs maintenance tasks as assigned.
6. Act as a part of the facility&rsquo;s safety/emergency response team as assigned by the Safety Officer.
7. Assist with a variety of duties to meet the needs of the department on an as needed basis.
8. Operate larger equipment or vehicles as needed and as trained.
9. Assist with event setup, breakdown, and special projects.
10. Support emergency preparedness efforts.
11. Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.

11. Must be able to maintain a clean driving record. 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. CPR Certified
3. Previous maintenance, facilities, construction, or related experience preferred. Valid driver&rsquo;s license and clean driving record required.
4. No major violations within the last five (5) years
5. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
7. Basic understanding of OSHA standards and workplace safety practices.
8. Human relation skills to deal effectively with patients, staff, and visitors.

This position involves moderate to loud noise levels. This position is physically and emotionally challenging. There is a high degree of stress. Ability to deal with time constraints and emotional stress and exposure to body fluids and viruses are also essential functions of this job. Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Comfortable driving long distances, including in rural or isolated areas.

POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of the health care team, the Registered Dental Assistant, under general and direct supervision, assists dental professionals with standard procedures to provide patient care and instruction and assists the dentist during the examination and treatment of patients by performing those tasks allowed under Title 16 of the California Administrative Code, Section 1085. 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Prepares patient, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, prepares materials, and assists dentist during dental procedures.
2. Takes and records medical and dental histories and vital signs of patient.
3. Takes digital dental diagnostic x-rays.
4. Makes preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.
5. Pours, trims and polishes study casts, fabricates custom impression trays for preliminary impressions, cleans and polishes removable appliances and fabricates temporary restorations.
6. Assists dentist in management of medical and dental emergencies.
7. Instructs patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
8. Provides postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist.
9. Records treatment information in patient records.
10. Cleans and prepares dental operatories between patients following OSHA guidelines for infection control.
11. Maintain inventory par levels and restock operatories and other dental rooms as needed.
12. Provides preventative dental education to clinic patients and community groups under direction and supervision of dentist.
13. Ability to perform standard and radiographic methods, exposes, processes, and mounts diagnostic digital radiographs.
14. Knowledge of patient scheduling procedures.
15. Maintains confidentiality in all matters.
16. Maintenance and testing of equipment.
17. At the time of hire, each employee will meet with their supervisor to set measurable goals and objectives that are a requirement for the position. These measurables will be monitored by the supervisor and reviewed during the introductory period. They will also be utilized in the annual performance evaluation. The measurables may change from year to year. The supervisor is responsible to notify the employee of any new measurables at the time of the performance review. 
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides reception relief as needed including scheduling appointments, assisting in the completion of insurance forms and maintenance of clerical records for the dental department.
2. Participate in continuing education in order to provide the highest quality of care to the patient population and to maintain a current and active license to practice.
3. Provides other allied duties as may be assigned from time to time.
4. Assist other staff members in development and maintenance of department goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
5. Participate in on-going quality improvement monitoring and activities.
6. Attend all trainings, meetings and conferences as required.
7. Learn and implement electronic health records functions as they continue to evolve.
8. Assist with a variety of duties in order to meet the needs of the department on an as needed basis.
9. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. High school diploma or GED certificate.
2. Current California Registered Dental Assistant License.
3. One (1) year experience as an RDA in general dentistry.
4. Graduate of an accredited Registered Dental Assistant program or documented evidence of proficiency in those tasks allowed by California law as determined by a dental provider.
5. Possession of a current Coronal Polishing certification.
6. Possession of a current Radiation Safety certification.
7. Current CPR certification.
