 Medical Assistant
 
 to work alongside our Providers in a variety of specialties providing direct care services including patient engagement and care coordination within the communities of
 
 East Hartford.
 
 This position is accountable for independently performing a full range of tasks in delivery of patient care in an outpatient setting. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow.

 Primarily a Monday through Friday schedule working 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. There is one late night each week until 6 pm (scheduled by site) but the clinic closes at 3:00 pm on Friday. Medical Assistants also rotate for Saturday clinic which is 8 am to 2 pm in East Hartford (with a day off during the week).

 The hourly range for this position is $17.50 - $22/hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience certifications, etc.

 Minimum Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities Required:

 Experience with an electronic health record
 
 </li>
 
 <li>
 
 Knowledge of medical terminology
 
 </li>
 
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 Experience and Training
 
 :

 <li>
 
 Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program
 
 </li>
 
 <li>
 
 Certified Medical Assistant is a plus
 
 </li>
 
 <li>
 
 Preferred 1 + years of MA experience
 
 </li>
 
 <li>
 
 BLS Certification
 
 </li>
 
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 Standard Job Duties:
 
 
 
 
 <ul>
 
 <li>
 
 The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support within our multispecialty practice
 
 </li>
 
 <li>
 
 Act as a member of the care team, including preparing patients to be seen by collecting and recording clinical information as per process, responding to patient phone calls and documenting patient interactions
 
 </li>
 
 <li>
 
 Manage patients according to approved protocols and consistent with appointment and scheduling guidelines
 
 </li>
 
 <li>
 
 Document all patient interactions and other clinical activities accurately and timely in the electronic health record
 
 </li>
 
 <li>
 
 Schedule tests, treatments and follow up visits on behalf of patients, assist patients with identifying suitable outside resources and other services where appropriate
 
 </li>
 
 <li>
 
 Monitor task list (telephone encounters) in order to respond in a timely manner, follow up on overdue orders and monitor status of critical referrals
 
 </li>
 
 <li>
 
 Adhere to all patient safety standards and infection control guidelines
 
 </li>
 
 <li>
 
 Assist care team to assure smooth office operation and delivery of excellent service through teamwork.
 
 </li>
