<div>How will this role impact First Command?

The HCM Analyst supports the organization&rsquo;s Back Office Transformation initiatives, including the implementation and optimization of the Human Capital Management (HCM) platform. This role focuses on business process analysis, requirements gathering, system design support, testing coordination, and cross-functional alignment.

The role will partner closely with the Sr. HR Systems Specialist, HR, Finance, Payroll, IT/BIS, and operational stakeholders to design and enable scalable, future-state processes that improve efficiency, data transparency, and employee experience.

What will you do in this role?
<ul>
<li>Document current-state HR, payroll, and workforce processes across departments.</li>
<li>Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with HR, Finance, Payroll, and field leadership.</li>
<li>Translate business needs into functional requirements and user stories.</li>
<li>Support future-state process design aligned to transformation objectives.</li>
<li>Identify automation and workflow optimization opportunities</li>
<li>Partner with system owners and BIS to support configuration decisions.</li>
<li>Coordinate and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).</li>
<li>Develop testing scripts and validate that system functionality aligns with documented requirements.</li>
<li>Assist in data validation efforts during implementation and upgrades (does not own production data integrity).</li>
<li>Track issues, document resolutions, and escalate as needed.</li>
<li>Design reporting requirements to support leadership decision-making.</li>
<li>Partner with the Sr. HR Systems Specialist to enhance dashboards and reporting capabilities.</li>
<li>Analyze workflow performance and identify improvement opportunities.</li>
<li>Support workforce data initiatives tied to transformation milestones.</li>

Skills &amp; Qualifications

Education
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resources or related field required</li>
</ul>
Work Experience
<ul>
<li>4+ years in business analysis, HR systems support, or enterprise system implementation</li>
<li>Experience supporting HCM or ERP implementations</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience with process documentation and cross-functional collaboration</li>
</ul>
Certifications
<ul><li>Business Analysis Certification (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA) preferred.</li>
</ul>
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
<ul>
<li>Working knowledge of enterprise ERP and/or HCM systems and how workforce data integrates with finance structures (e.g., payroll to general ledger, cost centers, organizational hierarchies).</li>
<li>Understanding of HR functional workflows (hire-to-retire lifecycle) and their downstream financial impact.</li>
<li>Familiarity with system implementation lifecycles (discovery, design, build, test, deploy, optimize).</li>
<li>Basic understanding of data governance, internal controls, and audit considerations within enterprise systems.</li>
<li>Strong analytical and process-mapping capabilities</li>
<li>Ability to translate business needs into structured requirements</li>
<li>Effective stakeholder facilitation skills</li>
<li>Comfort working in ambiguous, evolving environments</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to think systematically across HR, Payroll, and Finance domains.</li>
<li>Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive workforce and financial data.</li>
<li>Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across HR, Finance, IT/BIS, and operational leaders.</li>

HCM Analyst

<div>How Will Your Role Impact First Command? 


The Financial Analyst is responsible for internal management reporting, planning and analysis of an assigned area of focus and is expected to maintain models, identify variances, and deliver analysis to department management and the Finance team. This role will be also responsible for assisting the Accounting and Finance teams with monthly financial close and annual planning processes. 


What Will You Be Doing? 

<ul>
<li>Maintain financial forecasts, reports and KPI tracking</li>
<li>Analyze financial data and maintain financial models to project financial results</li>
<li>Retain industry and company knowledge to enhance variance explanation and financial reporting</li>
<li>Ensure accurate forecasts through coordination with Accountants on timing shifts and clearly documenting assumptions</li>
<li>Leverage historical trends and changes in internal or external factors to project future performance</li>
<li>Collaborate with business partners to ensure forecasts and analysis are relevant and any gaps to financial targets are identified</li>
<li>Perform ad hoc projects or analysis to enhance financial performance and better understand business drivers</li>
<li>Identifies developments and trends in the assigned areas and presents findings to senior management.</li>
<li>Any other tasks and duties as agreed with FP&amp;A Manager</li></ul> 


What Skills/Qualifications Do You Need? 

<ul>
<li>Prepare annual plan and monthly reforecasts for First Command Bank and its business lines</li>
<li>Challenge business partners on revenue and cost trends when financial drivers indicate areas of opportunity or potential risks</li>
<li>Act as a valued business partner by providing informed, proactive analysis and business insights to enable effective decision-making and efficient resource utilization for First Command Bank</li>
<li>Contribute to business process troubleshooting and enhancement initiatives (IBM PA/PAW, Jack Henry ProfitStars) where appropriate</li></ul> 


Qualifications 

<ul>
<li>Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (accounting preferred) &amp; 5+ years of experience;</li>
<li>Or requires a master&rsquo;s degree in business, accounting, or finance &amp; 2-4 years of experience</li></ul> 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

<ul>
<li>Experience with creating and overseeing financial models, reporting and dashboards</li>
<li>Experience with financial processes including month-end close, budgeting &amp; forecasting, management reporting, variance analysis and cost allocations.</li>
<li>Proven ability to analyze business financial performance and implement appropriate measures to maximize financial performance</li>
<li>Possess knowledge and skill to break down complex concepts into easy to understand action items</li>
<li>Able to develop reporting and effectively present as hoc and diverse information to executives</li>
<li>Familiar with standard accounting (GAAP) concepts, practices, and procedures</li>
<li>Able to thrive in a team environment and contribute to team objectives</li>
<li>Excellent presentation building and delivery skills</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organization skills</li>
<li>Strong work ethic and ability to think creatively</li>
