SUMMARY<br>
The Teller I will be responsible for daily teller transactions in both the lobby and drive-up locations of the branch. This position is also responsible for the delivery of outstanding customer service and for developing and maintaining client relationships by recognizing referral opportunities for additional Retail products and other lines of business. This is an entry level position.<br>
<br>
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</div><ul><li>
Provides customer account services to customers by receiving deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, issuing savings withdrawals, recording night and mail deposits, and selling cashier's checks, traveler's checks and savings bonds.</li><li>
Answers customer's questions in person and/or on the telephone.</li><li>
Records customer account transactions by logging cashier checks, traveler's checks, and other special services; preparing currency transaction reports.</li><li>
Cross-sells bank products by answering inquiries; informing customers of new services and product promotions; ascertaining customer needs; directing customers to a branch representative.</li><li>
Completes special customer requests by closing accounts; taking orders for checks; opening and closing Christmas and vacation clubs; exchanging foreign currencies; providing special statements, copies, and referrals; completing safe-deposit box procedures.</li><li>
Reconciles cash drawer by proving cash transactions; counting and packaging currency and coins; reconciling loan coupons and other transactions; turning in excess cash and mutilated currency to Teller Group Leader; maintaining supply of cash and currency.</li><li>
Complies with bank operations and security procedures by participating in all dual-control functions; maintaining customer traffic surveys; auditing other teller currency; assisting in certification of proof.</li><li>
Maintains customer confidence and protects bank operations by keeping information confidential, cautioning others regarding potential breaches.</li><li>
Improves teller job knowledge by attending training sessions.</li><li>
Contributes to customer service and bank success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.</li></ul><div><br>

This position can be located at our Billings, MT Downtown Tower or at our Sioux Falls, SD Downtown branch. Interns will be exposed to forecasting cycles, performance reporting, and variance analysis to understand how the bank measures results and informs business decisions.<br>

SUMMARY<br>
Participants in the First Interstate Bank's Internship Program will have the opportunity to create future career opportunities by building banking knowledge and analytical skills, discovering interests and strengths, and developing business acumen over the course of the 10-to-12-week program with a maximum length of employment of 90 days. Interns play an essential role in the departments they are assigned to, working on special projects, and networking with First Interstate teams while learning key aspects of the banking industry. This is an entry-level position, ideal for current college students.<br>

Works to develop key skills, including analytics, customer service, and business etiquette, necessary for success in an ever-changing work environment.</li><li>
