About the Role
 
Drive data-driven insights and optimize card service strategies for our credit card portfolio. Responsible for analyzing complex data sets, identifying trends, and providing actionable recommendations to enhance risk processes and improve overall financial performance. Leverage experience and expertise in data science, analytics, and consumer finance to support the development and implementation of innovative solutions that align with the company's strategic goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
 
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
<ul><li>Understand both data and business operations to formulate questions, analyze, and deliver insights to executives on potential changes to operations, products, or services.
</li><li>Seek out business opportunities using data and provide actionable recommendations to management.
</li><li>Conduct independent research, assess priorities, and adapt to changing needs with minimal supervision.
</li><li>Identify and develop advanced analytical techniques to respond proactively to market dynamics.
</li><li>Utilize cloud data environments and tools such as Snowflake, Tidal, and DBeaver.
</li><li>Apply both qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques, including statistical approaches, to solve analytics problems.
</li><li>Leverage advanced mathematics, programming, and tools like statistical modeling, machine learning, and AI for large-scale analysis.
</li><li>Mentor lower-level analysts, fostering intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
</li><li>Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the progress and impact of strategic initiatives.
</li><li>Develop business cases and presentations to communicate strategic insights and performance metrics to senior leadership.
</li><li>Interviews, hires, and trains new staff. Provides constructive and timely performance reviews. Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
</li></ul>Skills and Qualifications
<ul><li>Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense.
</li><li>Expertise in SQL, SAS, Python, or R for data analysis and manipulation.
</li><li>Experience with cloud computing and databases, including Snowflake, DBeaver, and Tidal.
</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex analytical findings into actionable business insights.
</li><li>Strong ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
</li><li>Great attention to detail, analytical thinking, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and solve problems effectively.
</li><li>Ability to handle stress, exercise self-control, and adhere to company policies and procedures while upholding company values.
</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in data science/Analytics or a related field (i.e. Business), required.
</li><li>Two (2+) or more years of practical business experience in financial services with consumer finance, preferred.
</li><li>Demonstrated experience and/or understanding of credit card systems or financial institutions, preferred.
