Staff Nurse, Emergency Department

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:&middot; To adhere to the policy and procedures of the hospital.&middot; Admission and discharge of patients.&middot; Bed making and to keep the bedside neat and tidy.&middot; To maintain the personal hygiene of the patients, including bathing, care of mouth, back, nails, hair etc.&middot; To assist the patient in elimination, offering and removing the bed pans and urinals.&middot; Assist in feeding the weak and debilitated patients.&middot; Assessment of the patient and plan the plan of care accordingly.&middot; Observing, recording and reporting of vital signs e.g. T.P.R. and blood pressure.&middot; Administration of medicine and injections, nebulization to the patients.&middot; Administration of intravenous injections, infusion and transfusion.&middot; Carry out technical procedures, such as Naso-gastric intubation, gastric lavage, oxygen therapy.&middot; Dressings and irrigations, Enema, Catheterization, hot and cold applications, suction etc.&middot; Collecting, labeling and dispatch of specimens.&middot; Preparation for and assistance in clinical tests and medical/ surgical procedures.<ul><li>Pre-operative skin preparation for surgical patient.</li><li>Shifting patients to and from OT.</li><li>Maintaining intake and output chart.</li></ul>&middot; Observation, recording and reporting of all procedures and tests.&middot; Maintaining the billing record.&middot; Escorting serious patients to and from the department/ wards.&middot; Coordination with other departments.&middot; Carry-out patient&rsquo;s teaching and demonstration according to the need.&middot; Counseling the patients and relatives.&middot; Care of the dying and dead.&middot; Patient education in case of discharge.&middot; Handing over and taking over charge of patients and ward inventory in each shift.&middot; Maintenance of therapeutic environment in the ward.&middot; Keeping the ward clean and tidy.&middot; Maintaining the cleanliness of dressing trolleys, cupboards, apparatus, etc.&middot; Care of clean and soiled linen.&middot; Disinfection of linen, beds, and fumigation of rooms etc.&middot; Preparation of rooms, trolleys and sets for procedures.&middot; Indenting of surgical supplies&middot; Maintaining interpersonal relationship with patients, relatives and health team members&middot; Communicating with the doctors as per the patients need.&middot; Orientation of new staff/ students&middot; Demonstration and guidance to new nurses&middot; Participation in staff education and staff meetings&middot; Participation in professional activities&middot; Demonstration and supervision of domestic staff&middot; Report about the medico legal cases to the Doctor and Medical Director if any admitted in the ward&middot; Any other duty that may be assigned by ward in charge / supervisor from time to time.&middot; Reporting any untoward incidents to ward in-charge.<ul><li>Any other duties as assigned by the Management from time to time.</li></ul>OTHERS :<ul><li>To attend telephone calls politely and strictly adhere to telephone manners.</li></ul>&middot; To maintain the punctuality and dress code without fail.&middot; Prior intimation should be given for leave.&middot; Should not leave from duty until the reliever has come.<ul><li>Maintain professional etiquette.</li></ul>Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹31,694.53 per monthBenefits:<ul><li>Health insurance</li><li>Provident Fund</li></ul>Work Location: In person
