The enthusiasm, honesty, and openness here is infectious and it helps us hit problems head on and be determined to find the best solutions.Key Responsibilities&middot; Collaborate with the Scrum development team to design, implement, and optimise solutions and improvements for FleetCheck software.&middot; Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for both front-end and back-end systems with minimal supervision.&middot; Write and optimize complex database queries for high-performance data retrieval and manipulation.&middot; Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues in existing code.&middot; Investigate and resolve customer support issues, providing technical insight and solutions.&middot; Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices across the team.&middot; Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain technical documentation.&middot; Be flexible, operate as a proactive member of the Scrum team, and contribute to other activities when required.General accountabilities  &middot; Act in a courteous, professional, and ethical manner in all interactions with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.&middot; Advise line manager/management team on matters relating to workload, technical challenges, and work progress.&middot; Contribute positively to improvement initiatives and propose innovative solutions.&middot; Comply with FleetCheck&rsquo;s values, service levels, policies, and legislative requirements.Required Skills&middot; 3&ndash;5 years of professional experience in software development, ideally with exposure to both front-end and back-end technologies.&middot; At least 2+ years of hands-on experience, and strong understanding of:&middot; C# .NET Core, MVC, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery.&middot; SQL databases and data modelling.&middot; Git, GitHub.&middot; Experience building and consuming APIs (RESTful services).&middot; Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.&middot; Excellent communication and teamwork skills.&middot; Good knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies.&middot; Demonstrated ability to work independently on moderately complex tasks and contribute to architectural discussions.Preferred Skills&middot; Familiarity with Azure.&middot; Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue).&middot; Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.Rewards and additional information&middot; Base salary will be in the region of &pound;40,000-45,000k pa.&middot; The normal contractual working week is 37.5 hours; a standard day is 7.5 hours.&middot; The work pattern is fixed hours of 9.00am to 5.00pm with 0.5 hour lunch break.&middot; The annual holiday entitlement based on the above working pattern is 25 days &ndash; rising to 28 days with length of service.&middot; 1 additional days holiday per month on a Friday (FleetCheck Friday), pro rata entitlement for part time employees.&middot; Contributory pension.&middot; Staff can work in a hybrid pattern, Monday to Wednesday being office based; with the option to work from home on Thursdays and Fridays if agreed with their line manager.&middot; Other benefits include - staff/team functions, including Summer &amp; Winter events, monthly charity cake bakes, monthly staff meetings, annual appraisals, access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Mental Health First Aiders, free parking.&middot; The organisation continuously evolves to provide broader and more proactive customer care.
