We're looking for a motivated and skilled Software Engineer to join our Geo Information Systems team &ndash; Supply Division. We build and operate an end-to-end platform that ingests, processes, and visualizes real-time vehicle and ride data, providing valuable insights to both customers and internal users.

You'll work on some of Flix's most visible products, building backend services that process large scale streaming data and power real time experiences for millions of passengers every day. Our backend has recently been rewritten in Scala 3 around Kafka Streams, so you'll be building on a modern foundation rather than maintaining legacy systems.

You'll join a well-staffed, friendly, and diverse team where engineers take ownership, share knowledge, and help each other grow. While our stack includes Scala, Kafka Streams, AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform, we care more about strong engineering fundamentals, curiosity, and a willingness to learn than experience with any particular technology.

About the Role

As a Senior Product Designer in our Supply Division you will help shape our team, influence the future of our Operations Management Platform, and make a direct impact on how FlixTrain operates every day.

Our team builds the Operations Management Platform &mdash; a greenfield suite of tools that powers how FlixTrain runs its railway operations day to day. This means complex, data-dense software used by dispatchers, fleet managers, and operations teams in a regulated environment where clarity and precision are not a nice-to-have but a safety requirement. Think less &quot;clean consumer app&quot; and more &quot;mission-critical back office that needs to be both efficient and humane&rdquo;.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that builds software products from scratch. We're looking for an experienced Python Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Supply Division. You'll make an impact by taking ownership of core backend systems that power our network planning optimization product. Your work directly supports network planners in scheduling vehicles, drivers, and timetables &mdash; improving travel experiences for millions of passengers while driving profitability.

Our team builds and maintains an optimization platform addressing use cases from vehicle and driver scheduling to timetable optimization. We follow modern system design &mdash; Domain-Driven Design, Hexagonal Architecture, and SOLID principles &mdash; with strict architectural boundaries enforced by tooling. Our backend workloads (APIs, event consumers, Kubernetes jobs) are built with high code quality standards.

The product's algorithm engine is developed by Operations Research Engineers using mathematical optimization. As a Python Engineer, you will own the engineering shell around these algorithms: the APIs, use cases, data pipelines, infrastructure, and the domain models that connect optimization output to the rest of the system.

You'll collaborate closely with other engineering teams to design and implement the interfaces and contracts that connect our platform to the wider system landscape.

In the Foundation Division of FlixTech, our Finance Technology Stream helps the business grow efficiently by delivering smart, compliant, and automated finance solutions.
