 Flynn Group (together with its subsidiaries Apple American Group, Bell American Group, Pan American Group, RB American Group, Hut American Group, Wend American Group, and Flynn Fitness Group) seeks a motivated litigation associate to serve as Counsel, Litigation on its industry-recognized legal team. This is a unique opportunity to join a diverse and dynamic in-house legal department of a company featuring some of the most iconic and beloved restaurant and fitness brands in the nation (Applebee&rsquo;s, Taco Bell, Panera, Arby&rsquo;s, Wendy&rsquo;s, Pizza Hut, and Planet Fitness).
 
 
 
 
 
 Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Litigation, you will be responsible for supporting senior in-house counsel in a variety of litigation and arbitration matters, including matters on which in-house counsel team members serve as lead counsel. Your focus will be on premises liability and commercial cases, with opportunities to gain hands-on experience in a variety of other fields, including auto liability, real estate, construction, and ADA Title III.
 
 
 
 
 
 The position is based in our Independence, OH Support Center.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Litigate! You will gain experience in all aspects of litigation, from initial investigation through discovery and trial. You will research legal issues, interview witnesses, appear at case management conferences, prepare in-house attorneys to take and defend depositions, draft pretrial and trial motions, participate in pre-trial dispute resolution, and try cases, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility over time.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate closely with outside counsel on non-California litigation matters.
 </li>
 <li>
 Support internal investigations, including conducting and documenting interviews.
 </li>
 <li>
 Review and respond to third-party subpoenas and records requests.
 </li>
 <li>
 Support internal advice and counseling across a broad spectrum of legal issues.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist in responding to government inquiries and demand letters.
 </li>
 <li>
 Remain up-to-date on relevant industry and litigation-related laws to ensure an ongoing ability to provide excellent legal advice.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop processes and procedures to increase efficiencies, manage and leverage data, and help support a growing legal department.
 </li>
 <li>
 Occasional travel involved.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Key Qualifications
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 2-5 years of litigation experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; California Bar admission in good standing (bar admission in additional states a plus!)
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to learn quickly and manage shifting priorities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Entrepreneurial mindset that enables you to successfully work independently with little guidance, but also to use good judgment and escalate issues when needed.
 </li>
 <li>
 Dedication to exceptional client service.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to operate as a team player who can effectively work with and manage legal staff and business clients cooperatively and efficiently.
 </li>
 <li>
 Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
 </li>
 <li>
