Job Title: Driller-in-Training Reports To: Driller / Driller Foreman Last Revised: March 2026Position SummaryThe Driller-in-Training supports drilling operations while developing the skills required to become a licensed driller. This role is ideal for individuals committed to building a long-term career in the drilling industry. Responsibilities include assisting with daily drilling activities, maintaining equipment and vehicles, and ensuring job site safety and efficiency.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist the Driller with all aspects of drilling operations at job sites, in the shop, and during equipment maintenance</li><li>Prepare tools, materials, and equipment to ensure efficient workflow and minimize downtime</li><li>Support and actively participate in the company&rsquo;s safety program and safety meetings</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment for all job sites, vehicles, and equipment</li><li>Drive company vehicles as required (approximately 20% of duties)</li><li>Communicate clearly and follow directions from the Driller and Foreman</li><li>Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and the public</li><li>Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel out of town as needed</li><li>Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly</li><li>Climb drilling rigs/masts and work at heights safely</li><li>Assist with basic mechanical repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting</li><li>Support metal fabrication tasks, including cutting and welding</li><li>Ensure the Driller has the necessary tools and materials to maintain continuous operations</li><li>Direct all technical or well-related questions to the Driller</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Requirements<ul><li>Strong desire to obtain a drilling license and advance within the industry</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license; ability to obtain and maintain a CDL required</li><li>Ability to operate and maintain trucks in both on-road and off-road conditions</li><li>Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation and maintenance</li><li>Basic welding and metal cutting experience preferred</li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions</li><li>Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented</li><li>Positive attitude with a strong work ethic</li><li>Comfortable working at heights and in physically demanding environments</li></ul>Work Environment &amp; Expectations<ul><li>Outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions</li><li>Frequent travel, including out-of-town assignments</li><li>Physically demanding labor in an industrial setting</li><li>Commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement</li></ul>Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>On-the-job training</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
