Organizational Setting</b></p><p>
Under the overall coordination of the FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (REU), the Subregional Office for Central Asia (SEC) is responsible for developing, promoting, overseeing and implementing strategies for addressing organizational priorities relating to sustainable agrifood systems, food security, agriculture and rural development, natural resource management, and climate change in Central Asia. SEC's technical assistance, provided mainly through projects, includes institution building, development of knowledge and competencies, and exchange of experience among the Member Countries. SEC supports regional policy dialogue on the above issues, facilitates the emergence of regional and subregional partnerships including with regional economic integration organizations, and supports capacity development and resource mobilization in the subregion.</p><p>

Tasks and responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Support the design and implementation of outdoor training facilities in the forest training center which is being established in Ezine nursery which will provide practical training on the cultivation of species that will improving the outdoor education especially for primary and secondary school students and informing of students on plant species as well as local women groups on the cultivation of some medicinal and aromatic plants.</li><li>Coordinate and conduct training series and capacity building for income generation activities, forestry-based value chain development and eco-tourism development following the FAO Farmer Field School guidelines and GDF Forest Schools approach.</li><li>Prepare outreach materials for communicating and engaging with stakeholders in the project area, notably target forest districts, PAs, communities (including educational activities in schools) and visitors.</li><li>Support the implementation of Communications Strategy and Action Plan, including organization of events and preparation of outreach materials and knowledge products within the project, to reach out and ensure active engagement of all the stakeholders (including educational activities in schools and visitors), and to promote gender equity and integrated management at landscape scales.</li><li>Support the design, development and implementation of a Model Forest Work Plan, using International Model Forests Network (IMFN) guidelines.</li><li>Coordinate capacity building and training activities for harvesting workers training in harvesting (felling, bucking, winching, yarding etc), in transportation methods and in work safety and raising the awareness of practitioners</li><li>Develop and produce materials to implement TIFTC communication strategy</li><li>Develop training curriculum including upgraded forest fire management and all other technical subjects as identified in TIFTC strategy</li><li>Support and conduct trainings on integrated forest fire management for a selected pool of routinely trained Turkish experts in close coordination with the universities, FAO fire management experts and fire department of the General Directorate of Forestry (GDF) of Turkiye.</li><li>Whenever necessary, provide support to the Lead Technical Officer about the overall project implementation and monitoring.</li><li>Support the European Forestry Commission Secretary/SEC Forestry Officer to:</li></ul>
o Monitor and contribute to regional forestry education and training initiatives and processes within the FAO and other partner organisations, including the Silva Network, Forest Europe, EU Erasmus and Costs programs, the European Forest Institute (EFI) and the International Union of Forest Research Organisations (IUFRO).<br>
o Support and contribute to the organisation of the annual session and relevant communication and outreach activities of the FAO European Forestry Communicators' Network (FCN).<br>
o Support the coordination and implementation of the decisions of the informal European Forest Alliance network, consisting of members from the FAO, the UNECE, the EEA, Forest Europe and the EFI, led by the FAO until 2026.<br>
o Support and contribute to the design and implementation of forestry education, training and outreach activities in the SEC region.<br>
o Provide overall support for the forest policy process in the region within the FAO EFC mandate, in coordination with the NFO and REU teams and other regional partners.<p></p><p><b><br>

Guided by the Country Program Framework 2023 -2027, FAO&rsquo;s country programme in Egypt is aligned with country priorities as expressed in national strategies such as; Vision 2030, 2030 Updated Sustainable Agricultural Development Strategy and Action Plan (SADS-2030), National Water Resources Plan, 2017-2037, Egypt National Climate Change Strategy-2050 and First Updated Nationally Determined Contributions (2022), National Food and Nutrition Strategy (2022-2030), Egypt National Action Plan for Antimicrobial Resistance (2018-2022), Programmer (2022), National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women, 2030, Haya Karima Initiative (Decent Life &ndash; Sustainable Rural Communities) 2019-2030, Nexus of Water, Food and Energy (NWFE) Program, and residential Initiative &ldquo;Bedaya &ndash; A New Beginning for Human Building&rdquo;.</p><p>
Through the support of various international donors, FAO Egypt is implementing a growing portfolio of projects covering but not limited to; land and water enhancement, agriculture production, animal health, climate change adaptation, agrifood value chain development, food security and nutrition and support to vulnerable rural and smallholder farmers. Further, an expected pipeline of projects covering climate change adaptation, natural resources management, biodiversity restoration and risk reduction is expected. FAO Egypt also sits in various coordination mechanisms in the country, in a strategic capacity, as a technical lead for food systems and agriculture.</p><p>
To deliver its program, FAO Egypt is working with several line ministries such as Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health and Population, Ministry of Social Solidarity, Ministry of Water Irrigation, and Ministry of Youth and Sports.</p><p></p><p><b><br>

The Animal Health and Production Expert will work under the direct supervision of the FAOR Egypt (Day-to-Day Manager), and the overall supervision of the ADG/Regional Representative for the Regional Office of the Near East and Nort Africa (RNE). 1. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:</i></p><ul><li>Coordinate and provide day-to-day guidance to other staff working on the assigned project;</li><li>Contribute to the preparation of annual work plans in collaboration with the projects&rsquo; teams;</li><li>Coordinate and oversee the implementation of project activities in accordance with the work plans and project objectives and harmonise implementation across selected governorates;</li><li>Establish and act as ex officio member the Projects Steering committee;</li><li>Support the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact, feasibility, and scalability of projects&rsquo; interventions;</li><li>Lead the analysis of projects&rsquo; data and contribute to the development of policy briefs, technical notes, and other evidence-based recommendations;</li><li>Facilitate the development of procurement plans in collaboration with responsible project personnels;</li><li>Conduct regular field visits to monitor projects&rsquo; implementation and progress;</li><li>Organize and lead regular coordination meetings with projects&rsquo; personnel to ensure consistent communication and alignment of activities;</li><li>Lead and coordinate key projects&rsquo; events at both the national and governorate levels, including inception meetings, workshops, stakeholder consultations, field data collection activities, and in-person and virtual trainings;</li><li>Provide timely feedback and clarifications to inquiries received from projects&rsquo; teams, FAO officers, governments counterparts, and local institutions;</li><li>Provide regular feedback to the FAOR including detailed progress and meeting reports according to the projects&rsquo; needs, results of the pilots and lessons learned;</li><li>Review and finalise knowledge products and reports related the projects&rsquo; activities and submit for review and clearance;</li><li>In collaboration with the communication team and the projects&rsquo; teams, contribute to enhancing projects&rsquo; visibility through documentation and dissemination of key achievements and milestones;</li><li>Perform other duties as may be required.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>

Minimum Requirements</b><br>

<ul><li>Advanced degree in veterinary sciences, animal production and related fields;</li><li>At least seven years of relevant experience in planning and implementing sustainable livestock and agricultural development projects and programmes;</li><li>Working knowledge (level C) in the English and Arabic languages;</li><li>National of Egypt.</li></ul></div><p></p><p><b><br>
