Assistant Accountant Bromley, Kent Competitive Salary Permanent, full time Help us shape a finance function built on accuracy and controlWe're looking for a detail-driven Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. You'll support core financial accounting activities with a strong focus on accuracy, control, and process improvement - ensuring processes are well-designed and operate effectively. What You'll Be DoingFinancial Accounting & Ledger Management<ul><li>Post journals including accruals, prepayments and depreciation and amortisation costs to ensure timely month-end close. </li><li>Assist in closing the ledger in line with the financial control timetable. </li><li>Provide support in interim and year end audit. </li><li>Ensure all accounting entries are accurately coded and supported by appropriate audit trails. </li><li>Support insurance-related accounting tasks, including IFRS 17 expenditure reclassification. </li></ul>Reconciliations & Controls<ul><li>Perform daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations (e.g., bank, balance sheet, control accounts). </li><li>Ensure core reconciliations and key controls are completed and ready for review. </li></ul>Reporting & Compliance<ul><li>Assist in the preparation of quarterly VAT returns. </li><li>Provide monthly and ad hoc financial reporting to management. </li><li>Ensure procedures and controls are documented, maintained, and up to date. </li></ul>Payments & Expenses<ul><li>Support domestic and international payment processing. </li><li>Prepare and process employee expenses and supplier payment runs accurately and on time. </li><li>Respond to queries from suppliers, employees, and internal stakeholders, including FP&A. </li></ul>Stakeholder Collaboration<ul><li>Work closely with Customer Services and other internal teams to resolve queries and support excellent service delivery. </li></ul>What We're Looking For<ul><li>Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or qualified by experience </li><li>Strong analytical skills and attention to detail </li><li>Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders </li><li>Proficiency in Excel is a must </li><li>Experience in Infor SUN is desirable </li><li>A proactive, solutions-focused mindset </li><li>Experience in a fast-paced finance environment is a plus </li></ul>Why Join Us?<ul><li>Competitive salary and benefits </li><li>Flexible hybrid working ( 2 days per week in the office) </li><li>25 days holiday plus bank holidays </li><li>Career development and learning opportunities </li><li>A collaborative, values-driven culture </li><li>Access to wellbeing resources and volunteering initiatives </li></ul>About usForesters Financial is not your typical financial services provider.
