You&rsquo;ll oversee all aspects of front-end and back-end WordPress development, from architecture to deployment &mdash; and guide a Junior Developer to deliver polished, optimized results.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys collaborating with designers and marketers, solving technical challenges, and building websites that not only look great but perform flawlessly.Applicants must provide a link to their portfolio to be considered.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Lead the development of custom WordPress websites from concept through launch.</li><li>Collaborate with designers to translate mockups and wireframes into pixel-perfect, responsive websites.</li><li>Architect and implement clean, scalable code for both front-end and back-end development.</li><li>Customize and maintain WordPress themes and plugins, ensuring optimal performance and security.</li><li>Manage the website back-end, including database and server integration.</li><li>Build with SEO, accessibility, and site speed best practices in mind.</li><li>Configure and maintain Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and other tracking tools.</li><li>Conduct QA and performance testing across devices and browsers.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve site issues efficiently.</li><li>Perform preventive maintenance, plugin testing, and security updates.</li><li>Oversee, mentor, and review the work of a Junior WordPress Developer.</li><li>Coordinate with project managers and account leads to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.</li><li>Document development processes and maintain organized code repositories.</li><li>Participate in client meetings as needed to discuss technical strategy or functionality.</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).</li><li>7+ years of WordPress development experience (agency experience strongly preferred).</li><li>2+ years of leadership or team management experience.</li><li>Expert knowledge of WordPress architecture, themes, and plugin development.</li><li>Proficient in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.</li><li>Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.</li><li>Experience with Elementor or similar page builders.</li><li>Familiarity with DNS management, cPanel, and email configuration.</li><li>Proficiency with Git or other version control systems.</li><li>Experience working with RESTful APIs and data formats (JSON, XML).</li><li>Understanding of technical SEO and web performance optimization.</li><li>Proven ability to improve PageSpeed Insights scores and site speed.</li><li>Experience setting up and managing Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.</li><li>Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) is a plus.</li><li>Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.</li></ul>Compensation:<ul><li>Competitive salary commensurate with experience level</li><li>Health benefits, including vision</li><li>Paid holidays, vacation time, sick time</li><li>Flexible work hours (core hours 10am - 4pm)</li><li>Half-day Fridays All Year</li><li>Hybrid remote work schedule (Only Wednesdays in-office)</li><li>Free gym membership at Paul Bunyan Fitness</li><li>Partial phone-plan reimbursement</li><li>Professional development</li><li>Paid Family Leave</li><li>401k</li><li>Short Term Disability</li><li>Accident Insurance</li></ul>Hiring Process:<ul><li>First Interview</li><li>Test Project</li><li>Final Interview</li></ul>About Forge Apollo:Forge Apollo&rsquo;s award-winning team of creators and marketing strategists ensures that our client&rsquo;s campaigns are set up for success.
