The Low-Voltage Wiring Harnesses Technician is responsible for performing inspection, repair, diagnostics, and assembly of automotive wiring harnesses and related electrical systems. This role requires proficiency in computer-based diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, mechanical/electrical component replacement, and the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences including customers and internal teams.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
 <ul>
<li>Perform complex electrical and mechanical repairs following dealership and/or OEM standards.</li>
<li>Read and interpret wiring harness schematics.</li>
<li>Build wire harnesses according to schematics and engineering specifications.</li>
<li>Select proper crimp tools and terminals; complete electrical connectors per specification.</li>
<li>Conduct quality checks on harness builds; use standard test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, probes, power supplies).</li>
<li>Perform soldering on assemblies as needed.</li>
<li>Conduct root-cause analysis to identify electrical defects and failure modes.</li>
<li>Analyze defect data to determine occurrence trends and defect types.</li>
<li>Continuously learn new wiring harness and connector technologies.</li>
<li>Diagnose and repair automotive electrical systems, wiring harness installations, and related components to specification.</li>
<li>Explain mechanical and electrical diagnoses to management or customers in non-technical terms.</li>
<li>Identify required repairs and perform corrective actions.</li>
<li>Perform standard part replacements by following the Standard Maintenance Procedure (SMP).</li>
<li>May be required to lead small groups of technicians (no pay adjustment).</li>
<li>Participate in ongoing technical training to stay current with evolving technologies.</li>
<li>Inspect and test vehicles; record findings for necessary repairs.</li>
<li>Perform work within a manufacturing environment, including assembly-line activities.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications & Requirements
 <ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li>
<li>2–3 years of experience building automotive or commercial vehicle wire harnesses preferred.</li>
<li>ASE A6/T6 certification preferred.</li>
<li>Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record.</li>
<li>Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.</li>
<li>Must be able to work assigned schedules, including multiple shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime.</li>
<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li>
<li>Computer literacy required.</li>
<li>Experience in OEM or manufacturing environments preferred.</li>
<li>Team-oriented, adaptable, and committed to high customer service standards.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of diagnostic shop equipment.</li>
</ul>
Environmental & Physical Requirements
 <ul>
<li>Exposure to extreme temperatures and loud environments.</li>
<li>Some tasks performed outdoors in all weather conditions.</li>
<li>Physically demanding role requiring regular standing, bending, lifting, and movement for 8+ hour shifts.</li>
<li>Ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds.</li>
<li>Ability to work at heights up to 20–25 feet.</li>
