<div><p><b>Job Summary:
</b></p><p>The Physician Relations Coordinator, under the supervision of the Administrator of Behavioral Health, coordinates activities for the Department of Psychiatry and Addictionology. This includes assisting in building and maintaining positive relationships with employed physicians, contract physicians and nurse practitioners working within the department. Other Duties: Completes all credentialing applications for applicable third party payers, Assists in communication of physician schedules, tracks expenses related to physicians such as CME and other travel related expense, prepares and distributes reports related to physician productivity and other quality measures, communicates hospital consults to appropriate physician, serves as hospital liaison to physician answering service; assists with physician recruitment and new physician orientation. Assumes other duties as assigned by the Administrator of Behavioral Health Officer. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.</p><br>

</div></div><p></p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p>
<p><b>Education/Skills:
</b></p><p>Bachelor Degree (preferably in Health Care or Communications-related field), or five years&rsquo; experience in related health care field required. Computer skills and knowledge of office operations required.</p><br>
<p></p><p><b>Work Experience:
</b></p><p>Working knowledge and experience of data processing systems, organization ability, communication skills, and customer service skills required. One to three years clerical experience required.</p><br>
<p></p><p><b>Mental Demands:
</b></p><p>Exceptional oral and written skills are required to relate effectively to Hospital and medical staff. The individual must have the ability to type and be familiar with the rules of spelling, grammar, and punctuation. The individual must have the ability to use a computer display station, copier, telephone, personal computer, calculator and various pieces of AV Equipment. Working knowledge of medical terminology is necessary. The individual must have a high energy level and be capable of handling pressure situations both mentally and physically. The ability to perform repetitive tasks, cooperate with others, follow directions precisely, and demonstrate initiative is required. The individual must be able to prioritize and meet project deadlines, have good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to maintain rapport.</p></div>

PHYSICIAN RELATIONS COORDINATOR

<div><p>The Cardiovascular Surgeon is prepared by education to function independently in the care of the patient requiring surgical evaluation and management for diseases associated with the heart, lungs and lanatomical contents of the thoracic cavity. The surgeon complies with the policies and procedures of the Department of Surgery and of the facility. He/She is directly accountable to the Chief Medical Officer.</p>
<p>His/her role includes but is not limited to the following:</p>
<ul><li>Rounding on cardiovascular service patients daily; completing documentation of assessment; following established protocols to assure expected patient outcomes.</li>
<li>Completing timely, thorough, efficient hand off of patient information as needed</li>
<li>Responding to the Emergency Department within the established guidelines of the Medical Staff Bylaws.</li>
<li>Submitting charges for daily work on the Charge tab within the patient&rsquo;s chart in EPIC
</li><li>Comply with quality measures established within the department</li>
<li>Complete the annual educational offering to staff as needed.</li>
<li>Seeing patients in the Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic for evaluation/continuation of care</li></ul><br>

</p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p>
<p> <b>Education/Skills
</b></p><p>Graduate of a medical school approved by the American Medical Association is required. Residency training in an ACGME certified Cardiovascular training program is required. Board certification/eligibility in Cardiovascular Surgery required.</p><br>
<p></p><p><b>Work Experience:
</b></p><p>Completion of ACGME certified cardiovascular surgery residency with board eligibility is required.</p><br>
<p></p><p><b>Certification/Licensure:
</b></p><p>Current license to practice medicine in the State of Mississippi required. Member of Forrest General Hospital's active medical staff with privileges to practice required. Be eligible for Forrest General Hospital Malpractice insurance. Required to be eligible for board certification in cardiovascular surgery.</p><br>
