<div><p>Position oversees the inventory, organization and issuing of all uniforms, equipment, supplies and firearms. This position assists the Procurement Sergeant in entering all purchased items into a database and is responsible for knowing the status of the item (i.e. issued, stored, sent out for maintenance, etc.) using a computerized inventory system. Schedule is primarily Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm but can vary depending on agency needs.</p></div>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Distinguishing Features</b></h2></div>
<div><p>An employee in this class is responsible for all activities associated with the inventory and issuing of uniforms, equipment, supplies and firearms as well as warehouse receiving and distribution functions. Advanced organization skills and attention to detail is required as well as having excellent communication and customer service skills. Work is performed under general supervision and is evaluated by the overall success of the operation.</p></div>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Minimum Education and Experience</b></h2></div>
<div><p>Graduation from high school or GED and one year experience in data entry. A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement. Must be able to successfully complete extensive background check, including polygraph exam and drug screen and also possess a valid Driver's License. The preferred candidate would have warehouse/inventory experience and knowledge of law enforcement uniforms and uniform equipment. This position requires intermediate to advanced computer skills, a general knowledge of Microsoft Office, and excellent customer service skills.</p></div>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</b></h2></div>
<div><p>Ability to maintain and enter data into a computerized inventory system in order to keep an accurate inventory of all items.<br>
Considerable knowledge of personal computers and applicable software.<br>
Prepare and initiate purchase order requests as needed to maintain an adequate supply of all necessary items.<br>
Communicates frequently with employees, administration and vendors via phone, email and in-person.<br>
Assists with receiving and distribution functions involving a wide range of supplies and equipment.<br>

Property Specialist

<div><p>Forsyth County Public Library has exciting opportunities for enthusiastic library professionals to plan and develop youth services programming while also serving the general public in a branch library. Youth Services Librarians are responsible for the provision of library services for all ages in the branch library to include circulation, reference, reader&rsquo;s advisory and overall customer service. This position plans, publicizes, prepares and performs weekly story times for preschool children and regular programs for youth from birth to teen including music and movement, summer reading and monthly teen programs. Collection Development responsibilities include serving on the JSWAT team to select materials for youth for all library locations and weeding and collection maintenance at the branch library. Other duties include conducting tours, preparing PR materials and merchandising the collection. This position will assist customers with public computers, online assistance, downloading materials and general computer questions.</p></div>

<div><p>Master of Library Science (MLIS) degree from an ALA accredited library school. Must obtain certification of the North Carolina Public Librarian Certification Commission. Must have a valid drivers license.</p></div>

<p></p><div><ul><li>Conducts online searches on various bibliographic databases as needed.</li><li>
Evaluates and develops the material collection in their assigned section in accordance with library materials selection policies.</li><li>
Maintains various files containing information on subjects that may not be available in standard sources.</li><li>
Provides appropriate library service for children and young adults to include working with schools to provide library services to compliment school work.</li><li>
Performs related work as required.</li><li>
Answers reference/research/directional questions by the use of traditional print resources, CD ROM resources, Internet resources and online catalogs of other libraries.</li><li>
Provides readers advisory services using personal knowledge, reader's advisory print resources and electronic databases.</li><li>
Promotes positive public relations for the library through preparation and installation of exhibits, coordination and implementation of special programs.</li></ul></div></div></div><p></p>
