<b>POSITION SUMMARY </b>: To help students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible members of society.
<br>
<br>
<b>QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION </b>:
</p><div><ul><li>Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate: Early Childhood Special Education B-3.
</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with personnel, students, and patrons in individual and group settings.
</li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of informal and formal assessment procedures and curriculum standards.
</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to work effectively with students with autism.
</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to develop quality, compliant IEPs.
</li></ul></div><p><b>JOB RESPONSIBILITIES </b>:
</p><div><ul><li>Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
</li></ul><ul><li>Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district.
</li></ul><ul><li>Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superiors.
</li></ul><ul><li>Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
</li></ul><ul><li>Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
</li></ul><ul><li>Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and__in harmony with the goals__establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
</li></ul><ul><li>Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
</li></ul><ul><li>Strives to implement by instruction and action the district's philosophy of education, curriculum, instructional goals and objectives.
</li></ul><ul><li>Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
</li></ul><ul><li>Assesses the progress of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
</li></ul><ul><li>Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
</li></ul><ul><li>Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
</li></ul><ul><li>Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
</li></ul><ul><li>Attends faculty meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
</li></ul><ul><li>Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
</li></ul><ul><li>Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
</li></ul><ul><li>Accepts a share of responsibility for co-curricular activities as assigned.
</li></ul><ul><li>Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.
</li></ul><ul><li>Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others.
</li></ul><ul><li>Provides for his or her own professional growth through an ongoing program of reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced course work at institutions of higher learning.
</li></ul><ul><li>Counsels with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
</li></ul><ul><li>Other duties as assigned by the Early Childhood Director .
