Job description</b></h3><p>
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is a subsidiary of Edvance, which is a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, established in 2018 in charge of the design and the realisation of nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide.<br>
In particular, EDF EPR Engineering UK is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for Hinkley Point C (HPC) project and preparing the design replication and engineering activities for the Sizewell C (SZC) Project.<br>
At HPC we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.<br>
For the SZC Project, work on the replication strategy and some early design studies are already underway and being delivered and managed from both France and UK.<br>
We are looking to recruit for the role of Piping Design Engineer.</p><div>
The position of Piping Design Engineer aims at supporting the field design activities for the piping discipline. It will lead to handle different interfaces with several disciplines and solve piping engineering topics raised during on-site installation of pipework and associated supports. The main tasks will be the following:<br>
<ul><li>Gathering input data.</li><li>Engaging with various stakeholders (installation contractors, CW interfaces, other disciplines) to clarify issues.</li><li>Producing site request technical assessment (RFI, FCR, NCR) concerning design issues on piping, support and anchorage scopes.</li><li>Contributing to other teams (Layout, Transverse, etc&hellip;) by providing piping assessments or general guidance as required.</li><li>Doing hand calculations and running anchorages macros to assess the feasibility of modification.</li><li>Proposing appropriate and proportionate modifications if sizing criteria are not met.</li><li>Closing open points and comments.</li><li>Assessing and integrating modification coming from the stakeholders after packages handed over to JDO.</li><li>Using calculation notes and guide drawings subcontracted to external companies.</li><li>Maintaining EPR-E&rsquo;s QA procedures in delivering the design.</li><li>Working with CAD designers/detailers in the preparation of the design drawings.</li><li>Contributing to the update of site design documentation such as tolerance notes or catalogue of standard solutions.</li></ul></div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>
Profile</b></h3><ul><li>Master in science, Mechanical engineering degree.</li><li>First experience of 1 years minimum in Piping Mechanical design, nuclear industry, or equivalent experience.</li><li>Knowledge of EUROCODE, ASME and RCC-M code.</li><li>Knowledge of the piping sequence including detailed design, execution design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning.</li><li>Knowledge of 2D and 3D design software: If possible, knowledge of these specific software: PDMS, NavisWorks, PIPESTRESS, RSTAB, ANSYS APDL and WORKBENCH.</li><li>Knowledge of piping and support calculation tools.</li><li>Experience working in a multicultural environment.</li><li>Curious, autonomous, rigorous and motivated to learn.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>
