Review and compile information from technical engineering manuals and reports to develop solutions.</li><li>
Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design drawings on routine projects from surveys, specific instructions, notes, sketches, and other reference material.</li><li>
Review developer applications from land use boards, site plans, subdivision plans, stormwater calculations, and grading plans for compliance with Municipal codes and standards, county, state, and federal regulations (as applicable), and conducts business in accordance with best engineering practice.</li><li>
Prepare development bond estimates, determine inspection fees, schedule inspection staff, monitor status of bonds, review bond reductions / releases, and perform administrative duties related to land development projects.</li><li>
Oversee preparation and maintenance of municipal maps, record drawings, and other official records.</li><li>
Assist with preparation of resolutions, ordinances, ordinance amendments, assessments, memoranda, reports, presentations, and public correspondence.</li><li>
Familiar with pavement and other infrastructure evaluations and preparation of management reports, cost estimates and schedules.</li><li>
Familiar with NJDEP (and other state regulatory agencies as applicable) rules and regulations inclusive of Tier A MS4 stormwater permits and annual compliance requirements.</li><li>
Responsible for the coordination and management of multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.</li><li>
Ability to evaluate and review challenging engineering matters in office or field and to develop appropriate solutions and remedies using innovative ideas and creative thinking.</li><li>

FPA is currently searching for a full-time Geotechnical Project Manager<b> </b>for our <b>Newark, New Jersey office or Wall, NJ office.</b> This position offers an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong geotechnical background to manage complex projects, mentor junior staff, and work on a variety of challenging infrastructure projects across diverse sectors including transportation, commercial, residential, and industrial developments. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a master&rsquo;s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field and at least 8 years of relevant experience.</p><p>

Core Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>
Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects from inception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet client expectations.</li><li>
Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies, providing technical advice and strategic direction as needed.</li><li>
Oversee the design and analysis of geotechnical aspects of projects including foundation design, slope stability, soil mechanics, earth retaining structures, and groundwater management.</li><li>
Supervise and mentor junior engineers, geologists, and technicians, ensuring their professional development and adherence to company standards.</li><li>
Prepare and review geotechnical investigation reports, feasibility studies, and technical specifications for clients and contractors.</li><li>
Ensure high standards of quality control, review project deliverables, and provide constructive feedback to team members.</li><li>
Develop project budgets, track project costs, and monitor schedules, proactively addressing any issues that could impact project delivery.</li><li>
Assist in identifying new business opportunities, preparing proposals, and supporting marketing initiatives to grow the geotechnical division.</li><li>
Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and maintain the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility.</li></ul><p><b>
Required Qualifications</b></p><br>
<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field required.</li><li>
Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline preferred.</li><li>
Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey required (or the ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable time frame).</li><li>
Additional certifications such as Geo-technical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or related are a plus.</li><li>
At least 8 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on project management and leadership.</li><li>
Experience with geotechnical site investigations, foundation design, soil-structure interaction, and remedial solutions.</li><li>
Prior experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and interacting with clients.</li><li>
Strong technical expertise in geotechnical engineering, including software tools for analysis</li><li>
