What We Are Looking For! 
Driver - Transfer/Tractor (Night Shift) 
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for transporting waste and recyclables from local collection sites to transfer stations or disposal facilities. Must have strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and a commitment to safety and environmental sustainability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
 Transport Waste and Recyclables:<ul><li>
o Safely operate a company vehicle (typically larger trucks or transfer vehicles) to transport trash and recyclables from collection sites to transfer stations or landfills.</li><li>
o Ensure all waste and recycling is properly secured and transported without spillage or hazards.</li></ul>
 Vehicle Maintenance and Safety:<ul><li>
o Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe working condition.</li><li>
o Report any mechanical issues, damages, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.</li><li>
o Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, both inside and out.</li></ul>
 Route Management:<ul><li>
o Follow assigned routes to pick up waste/recycling from multiple collection points, ensuring timely and efficient service.</li><li>
o Coordinate with dispatch to ensure routes are followed and any changes are communicated.</li></ul>
 Compliance and Regulations:<ul><li>
o Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety regulations and waste management rules.</li><li>
o Follow proper safety protocols for handling waste materials, especially hazardous waste or recyclables.</li></ul>
 Customer Service:<ul><li>
o Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients and customers, especially during pickups and drop-offs.</li><li>
o Address customer inquiries or concerns in a courteous manner, reporting any issues to the supervisor.</li></ul>
Environmental Responsibility:<ul><li>
o Ensure waste and recyclable materials are properly sorted and transported to the correct facilities.</li><li>
o Assist in identifying and promoting sustainable practices in waste management and recycling efforts.</li></ul>
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>
Experience: Previous experience as a yard laborer, with at least [X] years in a leadership or supervisory role.</li><li>
Leadership Skills: Strong team management and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide others.</li><li>
Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy materials (up to [X] pounds), and working in various weather conditions.</li><li>
Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to yard and warehouse operations.</li><li>
 Equipment Proficiency: Familiarity with yard equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand tools.</li><li>
Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly assess situations and implement solutions to maintain smooth operations.</li></ul>
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>
Valid driver&rsquo;s license (Non-CDL or CDL depending on the vehicle type).</li><li>
Clean driving record with no history of major traffic violations.</li><li>
Experience driving heavy trucks or transfer vehicles (preferred).</li><li>
Knowledge of local routes and waste management regulations.</li><li>
Ability to safely load, unload, and secure materials.</li><li>
Basic vehicle maintenance skills and ability to identify minor vehicle issues.</li><li>
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.</li><li>
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li></ul>
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>
Previous experience in waste management, recycling, or a similar field.</li><li>
Forklift certification (if required for certain tasks).</li><li>
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices in waste disposal.</li></ul>
EDUCATION<ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent</li></ul>
