<div></div><div><b>Responsibilities</b></div>
<ul><li>Assists the legal team by tracing, reviewing, and analyzing financial records from investigations to determine the source and delivery of funds, and the nature and volume of transactions. This includes understanding account relationships, following criminal proceeds and identifying assets and funds that meet thresholds and legal requirements for forfeiture.</li>
<li>Assists prosecutors in preparing for court proceedings by developing legal theories for forfeiture and preparing exhibits, charts, and abstracts of the financial evidence.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>

<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA certification preferred</li>
<li>Three-years accounting, finance, or other related experience</li>

<li>Excellent communication skills; oral and written</li>
<li>Intermediate experience with the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and other common software applications and databases, advanced skills are preferred</li>

<ul><li>Provides quality control and reconciliation of computer databases containing financial and compliance records.</li>
<li>Checks accounting practices for compliance with Federal laws and regulations (e.g., Single Audit Act), generally accepted Government accounting practices (GAP), and relevant Office Management and Budget (OMB) circulars.</li>
<li>Reviews and analyzes annual financial statements to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, program policies, and procedures, and makes recommendations for corrective actions if findings indicate improper or illegal expenditures and accounting funds.</li>
<li>Evaluates logistics and operations of audit and certification program to maximize efficiencies and streamline program review.</li>
<li>Creates draft budget requests for office operations.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>

<p>The Money Laundering, Narcotics and Forfeiture Section (MNF) leads the asset forfeiture and anti-money laundering enforcement efforts. MNF holds the responsibility of coordination, direction, and general oversight of the Asset Recovery Program. MNF provides leadership by prosecuting and coordinating complex, sensitive, multi-district, and international money laundering and asset forfeiture investigations and cases; by providing legal and policy assistance and training to federal, state, and local prosecutors and law enforcement personnel, as well as to foreign governments; by assisting Departmental and interagency policymakers by developing and reviewing legislative, regulatory, and policy initiatives; and by managing the Department's Asset Forfeiture Program, including distributing forfeited funds and properties to appropriate domestic and foreign law enforcement agencies and to community groups within the United States, as well as adjudicating petitions for remission or mitigation of forfeited assets.</p>
