Overview:</b></p><p>
The Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity, scalability, and operational excellence of Fuel Cycle&rsquo;s accounting function. This position owns key components of the month-end close, revenue and expense accounting, and internal controls while supporting financial analysis and business decision-making.</p><p>
This role partners cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Leadership to provide accurate financial reporting, insightful variance analysis, and continuous process improvement. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, analytical capabilities, and a mindset focused on operational efficiency. Experience integrating AI solutions into work processes, with a strong understanding of how to apply emerging tools to enhance productivity and outcomes is a strong differentiator.</p><p><b>

Work Arrangement: </b>This is a <b>onsite</b> role requiring <b>four days </b>per week in our Brentwood office.</p><p></p><p><b>
Key Responsibilities:</b></p><p><b>
Accounting Operations &amp; Close Management</b></p><ul><li><div>
Own components of the month-end close process including journal entries and reconciliations.</div></li><li><div>
Manage revenue and expense accounting ensuring GAAP compliance.</div></li><li><div>
Maintain prepaid and fixed asset schedules; record depreciation and amortization.</div></li><li><div>
Ensure general ledger accuracy and integrity.</div></li></ul><p><b>
Accounts Receivable &amp; Payable Oversight</b></p><ul><li><div>
Oversee invoicing, collections, and revenue recognition accuracy.</div></li><li><div>
Monitor accounts payable processing, coding, and approvals.</div></li><li><div>
Improve AR/AP cycle efficiency and cash flow management.</div></li></ul><p><b>
Financial Analysis &amp; Reporting</b></p><ul><li><div>
Prepare variance analysis (budget vs. actuals) and provide insights to leadership.</div></li><li><div>
Assist in financial statement preparation and operating metric reporting.</div></li><li><div>
Support forecasting and ad hoc financial analysis requests.</div></li></ul><p><b>
Controls, Audit &amp; Process Improvement</b></p><ul><li><div>
Strengthen internal controls and documentation processes.</div></li><li><div>
Lead audit requests and coordinate directly with external auditors.</div></li><li><div>

While primarily embedded within the Accounting and Finance team, this role will also collaborate externally with customers, vendors, and auditors to support accurate reporting and operational efficiency. You will serve as a key finance partner across departments to ensure accurate reporting and strong financial discipline.</div></li></ul><p></p><p><b>

Demonstrated ownership of month-end close components.</div></li><li><div>
Experience preparing journal entries and reconciliations.</div></li><li><div>

Compensation Overview:</b></p><p>
The expected starting salary range for this position is <b>$80,000 - $95,000.</b> This range represents the typical starting compensation offered to candidates hired into this role. Final base salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education, and certifications.</p><p>
In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus with a target of 4% of base salary. Actual bonus amounts, if any, are determined at the company&rsquo;s sole discretion and may vary based on individual performance, company performance, and market conditions. This role may also be eligible for an equity grant or purchase option. These components make up your total compensation package, which will be reviewed in greater detail during your initial recruiter conversation.</p><p></p><p><b>
