Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of mechanical and electrical systems within our facility. This role requires strong leadership qualities, project management skills, and a solid understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and electrical systems. The Maintenance Mechanic will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and infrastructure, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of our operations.Duties<ul><li>Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment across the facility.</li><li>Troubleshoot complex machinery issues using schematics, technical manuals, and PLC programming knowledge.</li><li>Lead maintenance projects from planning through execution, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.</li><li>Supervise junior team members and coordinate maintenance activities to minimise downtime.</li><li>Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to diagnose faults accurately.</li><li>Manage spare parts inventory and order necessary components for repairs and upgrades.</li><li>Implement safety procedures during all maintenance activities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.</li><li>Collaborate with management to develop preventative maintenance schedules that optimise equipment performance.</li><li>Document all maintenance work accurately in company records and maintenance management systems.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Proven experience in mechanical maintenance with a strong understanding of electrical systems.</li><li>Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership abilities in a team environment.</li><li>Knowledge of project management principles applied within maintenance operations.</li><li>Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.</li><li>Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable.</li><li>Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.</li><li>Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.</li><li>Management experience or training is advantageous but not essential.</li><li>Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in mechanical or electrical engineering are preferred.
