Pre-Sales Engineer &ndash; ICT (Tender Team)QatarWe are looking for a highly skilled Pre Sales Engineer &ndash; ICT (Tender Team) to join our established Bid Team.Job Profile<ul><li>Independently lead the ICT technical scope for the bids and tenders from concept to submission, ensuring solutions meet client requirements, project objectives, and timelines.</li><li>Prepare and write technical content for bids, including design narratives, method statements, execution plans, compliance checklists, and value engineering proposals.</li><li>Review tender documents and drawings, identify technical risks, and develop engineered solutions aligned with best practices, standards, and regulations.</li><li>Perform Quantity Take Offs (QTO), prepare and finalize priced Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and develop initial and detailed cost estimates, ensuring accuracy and consistency.</li><li>Prepare and review the commercial aspects of bids, ensuring all scope items and services are included, pricing is robust, and submissions are compliant to avoid disqualification.</li><li>Prepare tender documents and technical schedules, analyze and evaluate subcontractor/supplier offers, and recommend suitable procurement and contracting strategies.</li><li>Coordinate and, where required, carry out site surveys to validate design assumptions, quantities, and constructability.</li><li>Serve as a focal point for ICT technical clarifications, pre bid queries, and client presentations in the SME&rsquo;s area of expertise.</li><li>Act as a key player for ICT related matters both internally within the team as well to external entities like OEMs, end users etc.</li></ul>Technical Competencies &ndash; ICT Presales Engineer<ul><li>Strong understanding of ICT architectures including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, data center, virtualization, cloud (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), and unified communications, and ability to map these to customer business requirements.</li><li>Proven experience interpreting RFPs, RFIs, and SoWs and translating them into high-level and low-level solution designs, network diagrams, and bid-ready technical proposals.</li><li>In-depth product and technology knowledge across key ICT domains (routing/switching, security, wireless, collaboration, servers, storage, virtualization, and basic cloud services) from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, HPE/Aruba, Microsoft, VMware, leading firewall and cloud platforms).</li><li>Competence in planning and configuring ICT solutions to fit into existing customer environments, including integration, interoperability, migration, and coexistence with legacy systems.</li><li>Ability to prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BoMs) and high-level Bills of Quantities (BoQs) for ICT solutions, including hardware, software licenses, subscriptions, and professional services.</li><li>Strong grasp of ICT pricing and cost structures (CAPEX/OPEX, licensing models, maintenance, support contracts, managed services) to support quotation development and commercial optimization with the sales team.</li><li>Familiarity with key ICT and security standards and best practices (e.g., basic ISO 27001 concepts, network design and redundancy principles, structured cabling standards, high-availability and DR design patterns).</li><li>Proficiency with standard design and productivity tools (e.g., Visio or equivalent for diagrams, Excel for BoMs and cost models, and office tools for proposal content and presentations).</li><li>Basic knowledge of monitoring, management, and support tooling (NMS, logging, ticketing, ITSM concepts) to define realistic support and operations models in presales proposals.</li></ul>Candidate Profile<ul><li>Strong understanding of bid and tendering processes, cost estimation techniques, and procurement practices.</li><li>Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documents and convert them into accurate quantities, costs, and technical proposals.</li><li>Solid knowledge of relevant standards, codes, and regulatory requirements in the applicable domain.</li><li>Proficiency with MS Excel and related estimation/QS/bid tools; familiarity with document collaboration platforms.</li><li>High level of attention to detail, organization, and time management under tight deadlines.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics/Communication Engineering, or a closely related ICT discipline.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>5&ndash;10 years of experience in ICT presales, solution design, systems engineering, or a closely related technical role.</li><li>Hands-on experience in designing and costing ICT solutions (networking, security, data center, cloud, or unified communications) for bids, tenders, or proposals.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-time
