Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Respond to maintenance requests issued via handheld radio or plant PA system with a sense of urgency.</li>
<li>Repair, troubleshoot, and maintain all plant equipment.</li>
<li>This includes but is not limited to fabrication machines, the VPF machine, material handling equipment, and utilities such as sir compressors, steam boiler, hydraulics, fire protection, lockout/tagout, etc.</li>
<li>Enlists help and perform trainings with &ldquo;Mechanic B&rdquo; and &ldquo;Mechanic C&rdquo; for repairs.</li>
<li>Perform preventative maintenance on all plant machinery as assigned by Supervisor and/or Manager.
<ul><li>Participate in and maintain the preventive maintenance system.</li>
</ul></li><li>Maintain accurate records of repairs and preventative maintenance on all plant machinery.
<ul><li>Maintain maintenance records on machinery.</li>
</ul></li><li>Perform basic low voltage electrical repairs as necessary.</li>
<li>Follow appropriate SOP's and safety procedures.</li>
<li>Keep work area neat and clean.
</li><li>Operate plant machinery to verify correct operation.</li>
<li>Use of forklift when needed to aid in job functions.</li>
<li>Frequent contact with machine operators and supervisor.</li>
<li>Perform machine visual inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on plant equipment.</li>
<li>Must be able to frequently lift materials and work at heights.</li>
<li>Other tasks assigned by Supervisor or Manager.</li>
<li>Overtime and weekend work required as needed.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Minimum high school education or equivalent necessary skills.
</li><li>Must be able to read and write and knowledge of basic math.
</li><li>Equipment and Tools:
<ul><li>Knowledge and use of power tools, precision measuring equipment, welders (gas and electric)</li>
<li>Basic knowledge of electricity, pneumatics and hydraulics. -
</li><li>Various maintenance hand tools, power tools, etc.
</li><li>Welder, forklift, telephone, hand truck, tool carts, lubricants</li>
</ul></li><li>Safety Requirement:
<ul><li>Follow appropriate Safe Work Practices, safety glasses or goggles, hazard communications, forklift certification, lockout/tagout training, lock, cut glove, blade glove and safe lifting techniques.</li>
<li>Use of required PPE at all times (safety glasses, close toed shoes, uniforms)</li>
<li>Knowledge and appropriate use of LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) procedures.</li>
<li>Obtain and maintain forklift certification.</li>
</ul>
