Overview As a family run company trading for 74 years, we are seeking professional HGV Drivers Class 2 or 1 to join our logistics team. The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across our local area. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers to utilise their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.Duties<ul><li>Operate company vehicles in accordance with legal requirements and company policies</li><li>Conduct pre-journey safety checks on the vehicles, including brakes, lights, tyres, and load security</li><li>Safely load, secure, and unload goods, ensuring compliance with weight distribution and safety regulations</li><li>Deliver goods to specified locations within designated timeframes, maintaining punctuality and professionalism</li><li>Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery notes and vehicle logs</li><li>Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies during transportation duties</li><li>Report any vehicle issues or incidents promptly to management for appropriate action</li><li>Maintain the cleanliness and general upkeep of the vehicle throughout shifts</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Proven experience as a commercial driver specialising in tippers or similar vehicles</li><li>Experience of driving skip lorries would be an advantage but is not essential</li><li>Delivery driver experience with a strong understanding of route planning and time management</li><li>Valid HGV Class 2 licence with relevant driving experience in a commercial setting</li><li>Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to commercial driving and load securing</li><li>Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record</li><li>Up to date CPC and digital tachograph card are essential</li></ul>With no nights out, no Bank Holiday or weekend working this vacancy offers an ideal balance between working and home life.
