We are seeking qualified, like-minded Certified Medical Assistants to join our team!
Summary/Objective:
Collaborates with the provider to determine the needs of the patient and assists the provider with providing quality medical care to the patients.

Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.</li><li>
Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary.</li><li>
Collects data accurately and ensures that all information is entered into the patient&rsquo;s medical record in EHR.</li><li>
Prepares and stocks examination and treatment rooms.</li><li>
Clean and sterilizes instruments.</li><li>
Assists provider with minor office procedures.</li><li>
Schedules Outpatient testing, Procedures or Surgeries.</li><li>
Manages Referral process<ul><li>
Hospital Admissions</li><li>
Testing and Procedures</li><li>
Pre-certification</li></ul></li><li>
Triage patient phone calls per site&rsquo;s protocol.</li><li>
Process Prescription Refill requests per Physician&rsquo;s protocol.</li><li>
Performs Ancillary testing: EKG, Spirometry, Cryotherapy, etc.</li><li>
Laboratory testing may include Rapid Tests, Urinalysis, Bilirubin, Auto CBC, and Phlebotomy.</li><li>
Reviews lab and test results. Provide follow up to patient per provider&rsquo;s instructions.</li></ul>
Other Duties/Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Provide health education to the patient as needed.</li><li>
Performs all duties in compliance with Galen&rsquo;s clinical policies and OSHA standards.</li><li>
Maintains clean and neat work area.</li><li>
Active participation in process improvement efforts.</li><li>
May be required to assist other team members based on office demands.</li><li>
Recognize and demonstrate cost-effective measures in utilization of supplies and equipment.</li></ul>

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:<ul><li>
High School graduate or equivalent.</li><li>
Must be a Certified Medical Assistant from a nationally accredited institution.</li><li>
One year of relative medical assistant experience in the clinical setting is required if completion of a Medical Assistant program qualification is not met.</li><li>
1-3 years&rsquo; clinical medical assistant experience is preferred.</li><li>
Electronic Medical Record experience preferred.</li></ul>
Experience:<ul><li>
Previous Clinical and Phlebotomy experience is preferred.</li><li>
Individual must be BLS trained and certified at all times.</li><li>
Must be computer literate.</li></ul>
Skills/Certifications:<ul><li>
Basic Life Support certification is required.</li><li>
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>
Ability to multi-task and work as a team player.</li><li>
Excellent computer skills.</li><li>
Ability to follow clinical pathways and protocols.</li><li>
Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to handle higher-stress phone calls.</li></ul>
