JOB SUMMARY:

The Pipe Fitter lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs and maintains piping and piping systems and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling and industrial processing systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul>
<li>Reads studies and interprets job specifications, plans and blueprints to gain understanding of work to be done.</li>
<li>Selects type and size of pipe and related materials needed for each job.</li>
<li>Inspects work site to determine presence of obstructions and to make sure holes cut out for pipe will not cause structural weakness.</li>
<li>Plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers.</li>
<li>Cuts, grinds, threads and bends pipe according to job specifications.</li>
<li>Assembles and installs a variety of metal and non-metal pipe and fittings.</li>
<li>Joins pipe and secures to structure with clamps, brackets and hangers.</li>
<li>Tests piping system for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges.</li>
</ul>
IDEAL EXPERIENCE &amp; QUALIFICATIONS:
<ul>
<li>A High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years as a pipe fitter with experience in commercial plumbing; or equivalent combination of education (Technical School) and experience.
</li><li>Uses basic math skills including geometry and trigonometry to make calculations for work.</li>
<li>Ability to read and utilize Pipefitter&rsquo;s Blue Book.</li>
<li>This position requires working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
</li><li>This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and or move more than 50 pounds.

Pipefitter

<div>Reports to: Service Manager/Services President

Focus Areas: Higher education, k-12, hospitals, hotels, government, other institutional campuses or facilities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
<div>
<ul><li>Provide service, installation, and maintenance to customers in a defined market with a diverse commercial base in the above focus areas.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Install, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and starting up HVAC systems in commercial environments, from new facility set ups to existing facility retro fits.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, site surveys, and service requests including replacement, and modifications of equipment or systems as needed or requested by customers</li></ul>

Job Responsibilities
<div>
<ul><li>Responsible for end to end testing, maintenance, starting up, commissioning, and servicing on assigned HVAC projects.
</li></ul><ul><li>Represents the Company by serving as the direct customer contact and is responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer's location.
</li></ul><ul><li>Coordinates with team leader and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs by extensively examining building layouts, forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on-site work.
</li></ul><ul><li>Uses cutting edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units, as well as propose retrofits, upgrades and or enhancements to existing systems.
</li></ul><ul><li>Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction. Meets regularly with customer to become familiar with needs and preferences. Keeps customer informed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and or replacement. Promotes the sale of add-on work.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Continually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Displays team effort and dedication to customer by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.

<ul>
<li>A High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience in HVAC service; or equivalent combination of education (Technical School) and experience.</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
<ul>
<li>Operating and working proficiency with hand held computers (I.e. Smartphone, iPad).
</li><li>This position requires working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
</li><li>This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move more than 50 pounds. Must be able to climb ladders.
</li><li>EPA Certification Preferred.</li>
<li>Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment preferred.</li>

HVAC Service Technician

<div>Job Summary

Our Commercial HVAC Service Technician - (Chillers), specializes in heavy commercial chiller systems. You are responsible for performing inspections, testing, repairs, and planned maintenance of advanced and complex Chiller type Systems.

Essential Duties
<ul>
<li>Maintains, Diagnoses and Repairs advanced and complex mechanical Chiller type systems.</li>
<li>Coordinates work processes on large projects.</li>
<li>Performs disassembly and reassembly of large commercial equipment to perform troubleshooting and planned maintenance as indicated in the service agreement.</li>
<li>Proficiently operates hand tools, power tools, gauges and measuring equipment.
</li><li>Completes service contracts, quoted projects and demand service calls as directed.</li>
<li>Develops long-term relationships with customers and explains work performed to the customer's satisfaction.</li>
<li>Communicates and documents project status to all project stakeholders.</li>
<li>Serves as a lead and front-line resource to service technicians through technical support.</li>
<li>Coordinates the work of subcontractors, and may be asked to develop and provide guidance to technicians.
</li><li>Purchases materials and issues purchase order numbers to suppliers.</li>
<li>Safely drives a motor vehicle and trailer, follows requirements of company vehicle driving policy and adheres to all company safety requirements.</li>
<li>Maintains equipment, tools, and inventory stock on service vehicle.
</li><li>Uses work experience to diagnose and provide timely cost effective solutions to customers.
</li><li>Able to work effectively with app based software.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Requirements
<ul>
<li>Minimum of 2+ years of relevant Chiller repair experience
</li><li>4+ years of HVAC Tech experience
</li><li>High School Diploma or GED</li>
<li>Two-year technical degree in related field is preferred.
</li><li>Required - Chiller Skills:
<ul><li>OEM Experience or Factory Training</li>
<li>Troubleshooting of chiller control panels, routine mechanical and electrical for chillers.</li>
<li>Strong background performing centrifugal chiller overhaul services.</li>
<li>Strong Systems knowledge (air-side, waterside, controls)</li>
<li>Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask.</li>
</ul></li><li>Advanced knowledge in the Operation, Maintenance and Troubleshooting of advanced and complex mechanical systems. Examples, chilled water plant systems I.e.. pumps,vfd's and cooling towers.</li>
<li>Takes and logs readings from critical equipment and takes appropriate corrective actions before system outage occurs.</li>
<li>Required - Extensive knowledge of chilled water systems such as DX air-cooled,Scroll/ Reciprocating, Screw, Centrifugal chillers and Magnetic Bearing Compressor Technology.</li>
<li>Required - Advanced working knowledge of building automation and sequence of mechanical systems operations.</li>
<li>Proficiency in equipment OEM specific software. (for example, TU, Tech-view, Service Checker, MTool)</li>
<li>Excellent customer service skills with a desire to exceed customers expectations.</li>
<li>Advanced knowledge of service processes, techniques and codes is required.</li>
<li>Proficient in reading complex schematics and blue prints.</li>
<li>Performs as self-managed individual.</li>
<li>Professional demeanor, solid interpersonal skills with good written and oral communication capability.</li>
<li>Demonstrates strong business ethics at all times.</li>
