<div>Position Objective: Provide services as a Senior Editor/Enhancement Specialist in support of the overall functions of an Intelligence Agency supporting GAP Solutions, Inc.
Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Review, analyze, and correct draft material for clarity, consistency, style, format, logic, and organization, as well as grammar, word usage, spelling, and punctuation.</li><li>Review correspondence products and provide guidance to subject matter experts, tasking coordinators, and other editors regarding logic, clarity, comprehensiveness, relevance, and brevity.</li><li>Work on multiple projects with simultaneous deadlines under fast-paced conditions; must be available to perform duties in a high-pressure environment, as necessary.</li><li>Perform structural, substantive, and copy edits of analytical manuscripts for organization, completeness, logic, accuracy, and compliance with language, style, formatting.</li><li>Produce, process, and disseminate documents in different hardcopy, softcopy, and web formats and ensure compatibility with a variety of computer systems and telecommunications networks.</li><li>Provide quality control in accordance with customer policy and standards for correspondence.</li><li>Attend regularly scheduled editor and tasking support meetings and stay current with ongoing action items and Front Office Support Packets (FOSPs).</li><li>Review tasking and FOSP metadata for completeness and correctness.</li><li>Demonstrate customer service excellence by clearly and concisely communicating work status, methods, instructions, problems, requirements, options, and concerns with team members, managers, and customers.</li><li>Support the division in accomplishing its overall mission, including expediting crisis work, special assignments, and ad hoc tasking on variously scheduled arrangements.</li><li>Provide oversight &amp; direction to lower-level contractor employees on this task order.</li><li>Perform quality control and quality assurance checks on lower-level contractor employees work on this task order.</li></ul>
Basic Qualifications:<ul><li>
Active TS/SCI with CI Poly</li><li>
US Citzenship</li><li>
At least ten years of relevant professional-editing experience. Relevant education may count towards meeting this requirement but not preferred.</li><li>
A bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. Journalism or English) to the support services may count for up to four years of this experience.</li></ul><ul><li>A master's degree in a field related to the support services may count for up to two additional years of this experience.</li><li>Superior and demonstrable proficiency in English language mechanics and vocabulary.</li><li>Knowledge of government-mandated plain language principles.</li><li>Strong computer skills and demonstrated proficiency on PC platforms.</li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.</li><li>Working knowledge of electronic publishing software such as Adobe lnDesign and Adobe FrameMaker.</li><li>Achieve 80 percent or higher on a diagnostic assessment, which will be administered by the customer. Should a lower score be achieved, the government may consider waiving the requirement, at the request of the contractor.</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>
At least 10 years of professional relevant editing experience along with an undergraduate or graduate degree in Journalism or English OR at least 15 years of professional editing experience without the specified degree.</li><li>
Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.</li><li>
Excellent writing skills.</li>
Familiarity with the US Intelligence Community<li>-specifically, imagery collection and exploitation.</li></ul>

Senior Editor/Enhancement Specialist

<div>Position Objective: This Scientific Program Analyst will support the mission of the Scientific Planning, Policy, and Analysis Branch of the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS).

Our new team member will participate in a broad range of science policy and planning activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Provide assistance with coordinating the work to be carried out by junior staff, including clear and precise outline of goal/ objective and expectations.</li><li>
Work with staff on existing projects and/or the development, initiation and execution of new project initiatives.</li><li>
Organize and maintain project documentation and communications; track project progress using project management tools.</li><li>
Track action items and tasks, provide deadline reminders to Program staff; maintain spreadsheets of relevant information.</li><li>
Request information from and provide responses to principal investigators program staff and others on scientific and programmatic issues.</li><li>
Review and proofread programmatic documents describing scientific and management issues and policies related to their designated program.</li><li>
Conduct search for material for a specific programmatic need, using a database to search for material in many cases.</li><li>
Organize and analyze reports in a scientific area as assigned.</li><li>
Read, interpret, analyze and condense material from a variety of sources for presentation. 3</li><li>
Prepare scientific and programmatic presentation materials such as tables, graphs, slides, abstracts, posters and overheads by assimilating and mastering the scientific data and programmatic con-text for use at presentations and meetings. 1</li><li>
Analyze and develop presentations consisting of data from progress reports to be used by Program staff and at meetings in the overall analysis of Program progress.</li><li>
Organize existing slides/presentations/talking points into a functional database/library.</li><li>
Design, develop and maintain databases, Listservs, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and other computer applications.</li><li>
Prepare presentation materials such as handouts, meeting materials, slide presentations, and background/supplemental documents, spreadsheets, charts and graphs for conferences, committee, .meetings, workshops and group updates.</li><li>
Uses information collected to evaluate, analyze findings, and make recommendations. Prepares written reports, and designs and prepares tables, charts, graphs, and other visual documents to present to IC Leadership.</li><li>
Conducts a variety of analytical studies necessary to provide an informed and sound basis for management policy and program deciswions.</li><li>
Collect, read, interpret, analyze and condense material from a variety of sources and prepare reports of data analysis for presentation.</li><li>
Perform logistical planning for various scientific meetings, conference calls, symposia, lectures, workshops and special projects. 4</li><li>
Identify, assess, draft, edit, revise and assemble necessary background materials. 2</li><li>
Draft, review and proofread programmatic documents, such as conference agendas, meeting agendas, letters to presenters, participant lists, handouts, emails, thank you letters and reports.</li><li>
Prepare and give formal presentations for division leadership and other interest groups.</li><li>
Give regular progress reports to sponsor and stakeholders. 5</li><li>
Maintain ongoing, proactive communication with key personnel throughout the initiative; gather, provide and exchange information with Network investigators, their staff and other relevant individuals.</li><li>
Work with staff to coordinate and plan scientific meetings, including communications with distinguished lecturers, invited guests and participants, registration and meeting logistics.</li><li>
Organize and coordinate program activities; manage agendas, meetings, background materials and minutes.</li><li>
Provide project management support for large and/or complex projects with internal and external stakeholders and other project participants.</li><li>
Ensure that all aspects of the programs are tracked and reported, key milestones and deliverables dates are known and adhered to, and that all individuals and partners involved are kept appraised of progress of integrated tasks and next steps.</li><li>
Coordinates and maintains performance review systems.</li><li>
Lead efforts to improve database tools and other programs by coordinating and hosting meetings with database stakeholders.</li><li>
Identify needs for and develop new formats and databases for reporting program management and budgetary data.</li><li>
Research and assemble outlines of new milestone proposals for evaluation by staff.</li><li>
Analyze program activities, via internal systems and/or NIH systems, to identify issues and develop recommendations for improvement.</li><li>
Work with staff to assist and conduct management and administrative analysis; evaluate procedures, policies, processes and systems for the purpose of improving efficiency.</li><li>
Search scientific, program and related information on the Web and other means; perform literature and database searches.</li><li>
Complete progress reports that detail project status and flag potential issues.</li><li>
Develop periodic and special reports; search records and files, the Internet, background materials and precedent references.</li><li>
Track project progress and provide regular reports.</li><li>
Prepare complete technical reports, formal progress reports, monthly status reports and special technical correspondence and memos.</li><li>
Track action items and tasks; provide deadline reminders to staff; maintain spreadsheets of relevant information for grants, contracts and other programs.</li><li>
Assess alignment of policymakers&rsquo; interests with the mission, and work with staff to develop strategies/opportunities to educate/inform policymakers on relevant scientific, education, and outreach efforts.</li><li>
Provide project planning and project management strategies to efficiently approach complex tasks.</li><li>
Develop and improve procedures for leadership and program staff to implement tracking and reporting to gage progress, identify gaps in the portfolio, and assemble data on areas of scientific interest.</li><li>
Collect information on programs and grants to facilitate identification of scientific overlap and/or duplication, future scientific directions, workload distribution, etc.</li><li>
Perform statistical analysis, including data management (cleaning, creating new variables, etc.), descriptive statistics, linear regression nand regression analyses, logistic regression models and survival models.</li><li>
Develop, update, and maintain information databases (e.g. SharePoint sites); provide document retrieval support.</li><li>
Establish and maintain data analytics tools for analysis.</li><li>
Work products and documents related to writing and editing a variety of science-related materials; draft talking points and presentations for senior leadership</li><li>
Work products and documents related to assisting with development of programmatic narratives.</li><li>
Work products and documents related to coordinating activities for the Institute&rsquo;s scientific planning process.</li><li>
Work products and documents related to compiling information for reports and responses to data calls.
</li></ul>Basic Qualifications:<ul><li>
Master&rsquo;s degree in health-related research field
</li><li>Knowledge of NIH grants and funding mechanism, Coding and classification of grants, and Funding Opportunity Announcements</li><li>
Experience with workshop and conference planning, and research conduct and compliance.
</li><li>Establish collaborations, congressional testimony, portfolio analysis</li><li>
Skilled in project management, strategic planning, clinical research, and plain language</li><li>
Experience with policy briefs, legislative, and writing</li><li>
Experience conducting health related research.</li><li>
Experience preparing scientific report and proficiency in proofreading and editing.</li></ul>
