We are seeking a full-time <b>Product Designer 1 </b>to join the Outdoor and Fitness Device Experience team at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this UX-focused role, you will be paired with a design mentor and be responsible for understanding, ideating, and creating compelling, well-crafted designs for new features and functions for many of our products. Success involves understanding and applying fundamental usability and user-centered design principles, working amongst many groups and stakeholders to hone your design, and guiding software user interface development, working closely with design leadership, software engineers, graphic artists, product managers, and other stakeholders of your assigned projects.</div>
Responsibilities:
<div><b>
Essential Functions</b></div><ul><li>
Researches, designs and prototypes new user experiences for new features and products</li><li>
Communicates research and designs using mockups, story boarding, visual presentations and writing behavioral documentation</li><li>
Produces creative, simple, and highly usable solutions for how products interact in response to human behavior</li><li>
Assists with new user interface testing and conduct usability tests to get feedback on new designs</li><li>
Collaborates with and communicate to teams in engineering and product managers to produce superior solutions</li><li>
Maintains and ensure user interface design and behavioral consistency across product types</li><li>
Remains current on user interface design trends and competitors&rsquo; design</li><li>
Stays abreast with new prototyping, presentation or computer graphics techniques and software</li><li>
Applies design standards and procedures to implement basic designs and applies engineering tools when needed</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<div><b>
Basic Qualifications</b></div><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Interactive Design, Human Factors, Visual Design or a degree with an equivalent curriculum that teaches user centered design principles</li><li>
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)</li><li>
Proficiency and exceptional skills in creating different types of prototypes or mock-ups using tools such as Figma</li><li>
Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills</li><li>
Demonstrates understanding and knowledge of good user interface design (consistency, simplicity, usability)</li></ul><div><b>
Desired Qualifications</b></div><ul><li>
Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)</li><li>
Experience in graphics production, graphics editing technology, motion graphics, interactive design works and/or videography.</li><li>
Software skills using Adobe Flash or After Affects, Adobe InDesign, and/or 3D Studio Max</li><li>
Technical knowledge to bridge gaps between engineering and design environments</li><li>
Deep curiosity for learning and an excitement for solving challenging problems</li><li>

Product Designer 1 - Outdoor and Fitness Device Experience

We are seeking a full-time <b>Operations Maintenance Technician 2 - 2nd Shift </b>at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for executing the daily operations of maintenance of common and/or moderately complex repairs of equipment in Manufacturing and Warehousing/Shipping areas within Operations.</div>
Responsibilities:
<div><b>
Essential Functions
</b></div><ul><li>Capable of applying industry standards and procedures to develop, implement, and document operational processes</li><li>
Proficient use and knowledge of engineering tools</li><li>
Analyze data to determine quality trends and implement corrective actions</li><li>
Perform small projects and/or sub-projects as part of a greater project under the direction of a supervisor or mentor and able to work in conjunction with service providers</li><li>
Analyze opportunities for cost and quality improvements</li><li>
Completely execute Lock Out/Tag Out of equipment</li><li>
Provide reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques</li><li>
Identify process/quality improvements and offer suggestions for improvement</li><li>
Demonstrate ability to identify &amp; fix problems within a given trade</li><li>
Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers</li><li>
Coordinate between Planning, Purchasing, Production and Process Engineering</li><li>
Serve as a mentor to less experienced Maintenance Technicians (Maintenance Level 1)</li><li>
Cleanliness zone area requirements: This position requires Garmin provided personal protective equipment including SD shoes (Static Dissipative Footwear) to be always worn for an entire shift to minimize the risk of electrostatic discharge (ESD) and meet specified standards</li></ul>
Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications
</b></div><ul><li>Associate&rsquo;s Degree in a technical related field <b>OR</b> a minimum of 2 years maintenance experience <b>OR</b> completion/certification of a qualified technical trade program <b>AND</b> a minimum of 1 year demonstrated experience</li><li>
Successfully demonstrates knowledge of all skills from Level 1 plus the ability to trouble shoot mechanical/electrical machines and assemblies, operate within work order/PM database and process instructions, parts warehousing &amp; organization, water softener operation, and general plumbing</li><li>
Experience with pneumatic compressors system operation/ inspection</li></ul><div><b>
Desired Qualifications
</b></div><ul><li>Technical School Certification in Electronics, Industrial or Maintenance Technology or related facilities degree</li><li>
Refrigerant license</li><li>
Electrical Journeyman license</li><li>
5+ years related experience</li><li>
