Behavioral Health Therapist (BHT) are responsible for:
Under general supervision, maintains complex mental health or substance use disorder caseload. Provides support, intervention, direction, and conflict resolution to encourage patients to address and develop a recovery plan around mental health and/or substance use stressors and disorders. 
Essential Job Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Conducts comprehensive assessments and develops and implements complex treatment plans for patients with mental health issues which can also include substance use and trauma. As a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA) responsible for review and signatory approval of mental health assessments and treatment plans completed by non-LPHA staff.</li><li>
Maintains complex caseload, including conducting comprehensive assessments, preparing individualized treatment plans. Maintains regular contact with insurance providers to report patient treatment progress and obtain required certifications for continued stays. Reports caseload activities and progress to supervisor.</li><li>
Prepares and conducts group or individual therapy to address specific social mental health issues to promote the development of effective life skills to support a healthy lifestyle.</li><li>
Provides case management services to assist patients with managing mental health and/or substance use disorders, developing individualized recovery plans, and linking to supports to help them maintain these life changes.</li><li>
Develops and implements complex treatment and discharge plans for patients with mental health and/or substance use issues; and conducts intensive or comprehensive interventions (family counseling/support, etc.).</li><li>
Serves on a variety of departments or site committees necessary to plan and evaluate treatment programs and patient services. Develops and contributes to improvement of treatment protocols, procedures and outcomes.</li><li>
Documents treatment plans, narrative progress notes, interventions, treatments, evaluations, discharge summaries, and treatment plan reviews. Maintains patient records and charts to ensure organizational, regulatory, accreditation, and contractual standards.</li><li>
May serves as a professional resource to the clinical team by auditing patient records to ensure compliance with required documentation and service delivery by providing assessments of mental health and/or substance use patients.</li><li>
Consults with clinical staff to resolve complex case problems by implementing case-appropriate procedures, modalities and techniques.</li><li>
May develops and conduct in-service and continuing education programs on subjects related to assigned specialty for other Counselors as appropriate.</li>
Serves as a professional resource in resolving complex case problems and provides clinical guidance as needed.

Master&rsquo;s degree in psychology, social work, mental health counseling, substance use disorder counseling or related field, required.</li><li>
Minimum of 2 years counseling experience in the mental health or substance use disorder field, required.</li><li>
Ability to complete accurate and comprehensive assessments and DSM diagnosis.</li><li>
Current, valid credential (LCPC, LCSW or higher level) required. For Mental Health Programs this license designates staff as a LPHA.</li><li>
Comprehensive knowledge of family, group and individual dynamics, conflict resolution and intervention techniques.</li><li>
Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations governing health records confidentiality.</li><li>
Time and project management skills.</li><li>

Clinical Supervisors are responsible for:<ul><li>
Providing daily clinical supervision of a wing of a men&rsquo;s in-custody treatment program specializing in treating men who have co-occurring disorders, and the Counselors who provide treatment to these clients.</li><li>

The candidate must either have completed a 3 day clinical supervision course provided by the Missouri Substance Abuse Professional Credentialing Board, or do so within 3-6 months of hire.</li></ul>

About Our Atascocita Location (Harris County): 
Gateway&rsquo;s largest facility, Atascocita is a residential correctional center focused solely on substance use treatment for court-ordered clients. With 12 buildings and nearly 500 clients, the facility provides a structured, secure environment without armed guards. Staff work collaboratively in a team of 170, including counselors, probation officers, and support staff. The location is undergoing major renovations to become a state-of-the-art treatment center. We foster a supportive culture with team-building activities, recognition programs, and a strong mission-driven focus on recovery and rehabilitation. 
Clinical Supervisor responsibilities:<ul><li>
Provides clinical supervision to staff responsible for delivering services to individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders.</li><li>
Oversees client services and ensures compliance with established program standards and service delivery objectives.</li><li>
Recruits, orients, trains, schedules and evaluates the performance of assigned staff.</li><li>
Serves as a resource to assigned staff in identifying and resolving complex case problems.</li><li>
Promotes Counselors&rsquo; professional growth: plans and schedules and / or conducts in-service and continuing education programs on subjects related to assigned specialty, motivates active participation and involvement by staff to develop and maintain their clinical skills.</li><li>

Serves on variety of department or site committees necessary to plan and evaluate treatment programs and client services. Completes and reviews various special reports and memos regarding program results and activities, and provide recommendations to improve program quality and effectiveness.</li><li>
Maintains and fosters cooperative working relationships with funding or contracting agencies, current and potential referral resources and services, community organizations, and criminal justice and social services agencies.</li><li>
Assumes client caseload in response to work load or staffing shortages.</li></ul>
Job Requirements:<ul><li>
Current license as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas.</li><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in psychology, social work, counseling or equivalent work experience required. Master's degree preferred.</li><li>
Minimum of 100 hours documented clinical training in counseling theory and practice, plus a minimum of 3 hours of clinical supervision training.</li><li>
3-5 years of experience in a related field, with at least 12 hours of supervisory training and a minimum of 6 months treatment experience, and knowledge of up to date techniques and modalities, and case management, within assigned treatment program required.</li></ul>

Clinical Supervisors are responsible for:<ul><li>
Supervises Counselors and other clinical support staff delivering assessment, substance use disorder education and treatment, and case management to clients.</li><li>
Oversees client program: evaluates counselors&rsquo; work performance, audits client records to ensure regulatory and contractual compliance and achievement of service delivery objectives.</li><li>
Serves as a professional resource to other counselors in resolving complex case problems and provides clinical supervision and guidance.</li><li>
Interprets and enforces the organization and facility policies and procedures, contributes to development of treatment protocols and processes.</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Job Requirements:<ul><li>
 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited college or university in any of the social sciences OR</li><li>
Master&rsquo;s degree in psychology, social work, mental health or substance abuse counseling, or closely related field, or equivalent education and life experience.</li><li>
Minimum of 100 hours documented clinical training in counseling theory and practice.</li><li>
Three (3) years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years of clinical supervision following licensure OR certification attainment.</li><li>
 Current Certified Addictions Professional (CAP) OR Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJAP) OR Certified Associate Addictions Professional (CAAP) OR Certified Criminal Justice Associate Addictions Professional (CCJAAP) OR Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)</li></ul>
Physical Requirements:
 1. Ability to walk and move about the facilities for up to two hours at a time, to monitor and interact with clients
 2. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift,carry,push, pull or otherwise move objects.
 3. Ability to record, proofread and check documents and files for accuracy,to prepare and analyze data and figures,transcribe, read
 4. Ability to use a keyboard and video display terminal to receive, retrieve, and/or audit information and data
 5. Ability to respond to telephones, and to hear and detect alarms and unusual noises 
Compensation (based on experience and credentials):<ul><li>
Range begins at $73,486 annually</li><li>
