Skills in customer service and/or sales appreciated.Looking for someone who has some experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, administrative assistant or office manager. However, we will invest in and train the right person. Appreciate interest in criminal defense law or criminal justice background, showing commitment to serve people accused of serious crimes. Those with criminal backgrounds or criminal history are encouraged to apply.Duties include but are not limited to:&middot; New Client Intake / Firm Sales&middot; Client File Management in Dropbox and CLIO&middot; Discovery Management &ndash; ensuring all discovery received is indexed, accessible, and accurate&middot; Opening new files and closing old files&middot; Attorney monthly billing in CLIO&middot; Trust accounting and ledgers&middot; Preparing legal documents&middot; Sending out public disclosure requests, tracking records.&middot; Motions to appoint experts and investigators&middot; Providing attorneys information about courts and court processes in various counties&middot; Written and verbal correspondence with clients&middot; Strategizing with attorneys on cases and best outcomes for clients&middot; Calendaring and tracking all court appearances for attorneys&middot; Assistance with trial preparation &ndash; creating trial binders and folders&middot; Other administrative projects or support as neededSuccessful candidates must:&middot; Have strong motivation and a willingness to learn&middot; Be committed to team work&middot; Be extremely detail oriented&middot; Have some experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, office manager, or recently graduated from paralegal school&middot; Be dedicated interest to criminal defense law and serving people who have been accused of serious crimes&middot; Prior experience with criminal law practice preferred (prosecutor or defense)&middot; Prior experience using Clio practice management software preferred&middot; Bilingual (Spanish) preferredSalary: Starting salary between $50,000 and $70,000 ($25 to $35 per hour) depending on experience. We have a large office space with receptionist, conference room, office equipment (phones, fax, large copier) and kitchen.Benefits: Two weeks paid vacation, subject to prior approval.
