Key Responsibilities:
As an Emergency Medicine Physician with MEDS, you will be responsible for:<ul><li>
Conducting rapid and accurate initial patient assessments to determine urgency and necessary interventions.</li><li>
Providing urgent medical treatment and managing a wide range of acute and emergent conditions.</li><li>
Proficiently performing essential medical procedures, including but not limited to intubation, central line placement, and wound care.</li><li>
Interpreting complex diagnostic tests (e.g., lab results, EKGs) and medical imaging (e.g., X-rays, CT scans) to guide patient management.</li><li>
Collaborating seamlessly with nurses, specialists, hospitalists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and comprehensive patient care plans.</li><li>
Adhering strictly to established protocols, guidelines, and best practices for emergency medical care.</li><li>
Maintaining meticulous and compliant medical coding and documentation standards.</li></ul>
Skills &amp; Qualifications:<ul><li>
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.</li><li>
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine.</li><li>
Current, unrestricted medical license and DEA registration in Mississippi, or ability to obtain prior to start.</li><li>
Post-residency experience in Emergency Medicine is essential.</li><li>
Proven proficiency in all facets of hospital emergency medicine practices.</li><li>
Expertise in airway management and resuscitation techniques across all age groups.</li><li>
Demonstrated ability to effectively diagnose and manage pediatric emergencies.</li><li>
Solid knowledge of public health principles and practices as they apply to emergency care.</li><li>
Strong ability to make swift, sound decisions and manage clinical emergencies effectively under pressure.</li><li>
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on compassionate patient interaction and team collaboration.</li><li>
Nice-to-have skills: Experience or interest in oncology, advanced medical imaging interpretation, and orthopedics related to emergency care.</li></ul>
