FULL TIME ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY (FAMILY LAW AND TRUSTS &amp; ESTATES)At Gendelman Klimas Edwards, Ltd., Family is Everything. We practice law in the areas of contested and uncontested probate, estate planning, and family law. Gendelman Klimas Edwards, Ltd. is a progressive, modern, technologically advanced law firm with a casual, interactive, and friendly environment.We are a small and growing, with offices in Denver and in the mountains, seeking a full-time Family Law and Trusts &amp; Estates Associate Attorney to work in our collegial, friendly, and laid-back environment. Our work format is hybrid, and this role would require two days in person at our Denver office per week. This candidate&rsquo;s caseload will consist of approximately 40% family law and 60% uncontested trust and estates, including but not limited to estate planning, guardianships, conservatorships, and estate administration. Within 12 months, this candidate would have the opportunity to transition their caseload fully to family law or uncontested trust and estates, at their election.The ideal candidate will have no less than three years of experience in Domestic Relations law and some experience in Trusts &amp; Estates law in Colorado, will be an intrinsically motivated self-starter, and able to thrive in a high-volume law practice. Our billing requirement for associate attorneys is 1,500 hours per year, evaluated on a quarterly basis. Gendelman Klimas Edwards, Ltd. is dedicated to promoting from within and offers a clear, defined path for advancement including both  Of Counsel and Partner tracks.Required Qualifications and Skills:<ul><li>Juris Doctor from an ABA Accredited law school</li><li>Licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado, for no less than two years</li><li>No less than two years of experience in Colorado family law practice, with at least one year of experience independently managing cases</li><li>Exceptionally detail oriented</li><li>Strong commitment to professionalism and legal ethics</li><li>Self-motivated and quick-learner</li><li>Passion for advocacy and justice</li><li>Eligible for employment in the United States</li></ul>Job Duties<ul><li>Manage high-volume caseload, with immediate responsibility and independence in family law cases</li><li>Assist partners, senior associates, and associates with existing caseloads with family law and uncontested trust and estate caseloads</li><li>Make court appearances as needed</li><li>Draft motions and pleadings, conduct discovery, etc.</li><li>Attend depositions as needed</li><li>Facilitate client meetings and consultations</li><li>Perform legal research</li><li>Attend mediations and engage in other dispute resolution processes</li><li>Delegate and supervise work to paralegals and other staff members</li><li>Adhere to billing standards and conventions</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications and Skills:<ul><li>Familiarity with Clio or another practice management software/platform</li><li>Experience with finance, tax, and/or banking</li><li>Comfort working with diverse populations across varying cultural backgrounds</li><li>Bilingual in Spanish and English</li></ul>Benefits:<ul><li>&quot;unlimited&quot; unpaid time off, with notice and approval</li><li>generous paid time off, paid sick time, and paid bereavement leave</li><li>10 federal paid holidays per year</li><li>significant employer contributions to health, dental, and vision insurance</li><li>life insurance</li><li>401(k) with 4% match after 6 months of employment</li><li>potential to earn incentive pay and referral bonuses for originated business</li></ul>Compensation: Our good faith total compensation estimate for this position within the first year is between $85,000 and $120,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and self-generated business/originations. Total compensation will consist of base pay, commissions, incentives, and bonus.This position is exempt under the FLSA and is not eligible for overtime pay.Location:This position is hybrid, requiring the candidate to work in-office two days per week, at our Denver office located in Denver, CO 80203. Standard working hours will be 8:30AM to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. The in-office component of this position is an essential function of the position.
