<div>Job Summary 
 
This position directs the overall construction management, organization, execution and operations for construction projects and related activities for Genesco Store Planning. 
 
Job Responsibilities 
<ul><li>Train, direct and assist project managers with procedures related to design, landlord, code, and inspectors.</li>
<li>Appoints project managers to assigned projects. Approves the selection of general contractors and job superintendents.</li>
<li>Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating construction projects.</li>
<li>Extensive and independent contact with our vendors and national contractors.</li>
<li>Ensure effective communication and coordination on projects between all disciplines.</li>
<li>Maintain professional and positive relationships with our national contractors, vendors, associates and landlords.</li>
<li>Periodic project site visits to review project schedule, criteria, compliance, quality of work, and prepare/administer punch lists to assure closure of all items.</li>
<li>Focus on cost reductions and savings.</li>
<li>Attend weekly meetings to apprise departments of project status.</li>
<li>Direct the project managers, architect, and vendors to work through landlord and city issues during plan approval.
</li><li>Assist legal team in lease issues as they pertain to construction.</li>
<li>During construction, assist the project managers and GC's to work through landlord, design, and code/inspector issues.</li>
<li>Review change orders and invoices for accuracy.</li>
<li>Develop, train and coach department to meet business objectives.
</li><li>Ensure all policies, protocols and procedures are followed.</li>
<li>Responsible for implementation of creating construction budgets and achieving them.</li>

Job Requirements 
<ul><li>10+ years of relevant experience</li>
<li>Thorough knowledge and understanding of architectural and engineering plans</li>
<li>Extensive knowledge of construction - specifically retail tenant applications.</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously</li>
<li>Act as a link between operations, vendors, contractors, and architects</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)</li>
<li>Ability to resolve conflicting situations and effective problem-solving skills</li>
