Medical Diagnostic Laboratories (MDL) is a CLIA certified clinical laboratory with multiple state licensing, specializing in state of the art, automated DNA based molecular analysis of a variety of chronic and infectious illnesses. MDL specializes and performs Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) with a larger menu of testing available in the field of infectious disease. Our main theme of research is in the field of Gynecology, Infectious Diseases, Infectious Arthritis, Tick-borne Diseases, Mycology, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).
 
MDL is currently expanding and is looking for Full-Time Validation Technician to join our growing laboratory team.
 
Real-Time Reagents: 
<ul>
<li>Properly locate and identify stocks of primers and probes for each assay</li>
<li>Properly locate and identify stocks of primers and probes for each assay</li>
<li>Properly locate and identify plasmid stocks for each day</li>
<li>Properly hydrate stock solutions of primer and probe for each assay</li>
<li>Properly dilute positive standards from plasmid stock and aliquot for general laboratory use</li>
<li>Run a test on each new batch of primer probe and standards compare to known standards to validate</li>
<li>Keep all validation results cataloged for comparison to future</li>
<li>Log all reagents made in appropriate places (rMDL inventory or log books)</li>
<li>Log hydration numbers in the appropriate places</li>
</ul>
Bio-Plex Reagents: 
<ul>
<li>Properly locate reagents for the individual tests</li>
<li>Using the appropriate buffers, dNTPs, primer mixes and taq to create the PCR mix for desired test</li>
<li>Using the correct buffers, ASPE, dNTP, primer mixes and tsp to create the ASPE mix for the desired test</li>
<li>Use stock primers to create primer mixes for the individual tests (PCR and ASPE)</li>
<li>Use stock primers to create the Synthetic controls for individual tests</li>
<li>Combine purchase bead for use in the clinical workflow</li>
<li>Following procedure make any solutions needed to complete the assay procedures</li>
</ul>
Solutions: 
<ul>
<li>Following procedure locate components of solutions in the chemical room and create new mixtures (Digestive Additive, dNTPs, Pyro Washes, 5x loading Dye)</li>
<li>After creating new reagents make sure they are tested and keep a log of when reagents are made tested and released to the clinical workflow.</li>
</ul>

Job Summary:

MBC is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to provide assistance to various healthcare services following established policies and protocols including, but not limited to: screening and scheduling all new patient appointments, obtaining records, and imaging studies, managing medical record requests, scanning, and attaching documents within the electronic medical record, patient check in and out, insurance verification and authorizations, phone/message triage and collaboration with all team members.
 
Essential Functions: 
<ul>
<li>Front office patient registration</li>
<li>Responsible for all screening and scheduling of all patient’s new or existing based on MBC protocols</li>
<li>Supplying new/existing patients with the appropriate form</li>
<li>Maintenance/updates of all applicable forms for new/existing patients and medical records</li>
<li>Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm</li>
<li>Answers and screens telephone calls in a professional and timely manner: takes accurate messages with a high degree of professionalism and courtesy</li>
<li>Exercises considerable judgement and discretion in handling requests for appointments and telephone calls</li>
<li>Able to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy and discipline</li>
<li>Excellent written and oral communication skills</li>
<li>Responsible for all medical record requests and supplying appropriate information</li>
<li>Strong communication skills with all departments within MBC and other external offices</li>
<li>Composes, types and distributes professional correspondence and memoranda, E-mails and faxes, using individual initiative and as assigned</li>
<li>Obtaining medical records from new/existing patient and downloading CDs of images</li>
<li>Scan in all written reports with records (i.e.: pathology, mammogram, sonogram and MRI)</li>
<li>Call insurance to verify new/existing patient benefits</li>
<li>Collect referrals</li>
<li>Collect co-pays</li>
</ul>
