Workers&rsquo; Compensation Billing Specialist (Full-Time)Location:West Orange, NJ Practice:Genesis Orthopaedic and SpineAbout UsGenesis Orthopaedic and Spine is a multi-specialty orthopedic and spine practice with multiple locations across New Jersey. We specialize in comprehensive musculoskeletal care and work extensively with Workers&rsquo; Compensation cases. As our practice continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Workers&rsquo; Compensation Billing Specialistto join our team at our West Orange location.Position SummaryThe Workers&rsquo; Compensation Billing Specialist will be responsible for the accurate submission, follow-up, and resolution of Workers&rsquo; Compensation claims. This role requires deep knowledge of New Jersey Workers&rsquo; Compensation billing rules, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex claims efficiently. Experience with other state Workers&rsquo; Compensation systems, particularly New York, Pennsylvania, Department of Labor, and other states, is highly preferred.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Submit Workers&rsquo; Compensation claims electronically, by mail, and by faxin a timely and accurate manner</li><li>Ensure compliance with New Jersey Workers&rsquo; Compensation regulations, NY state,and Department of Labor requirements (knowledge of other states is a PLUS)</li><li>Review, correct, and resubmit denied or rejected claims</li><li>Follow up on unpaid and underpaid claims and resolve billing discrepancies</li><li>Communicate with insurance carriers, employers, attorneys, and internal staff regarding claim status</li><li>Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile accounts accurately</li><li>Maintain detailed documentation and billing records</li><li>Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to ensure proper coding and billing</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Minimum of 5 years of experiencein Workers&rsquo; Compensation billing</li><li>Strong knowledge of New Jersey Workers&rsquo; Compensation</li><li>Experience submitting claims via electronic clearinghouses, mail, and fax</li><li>Proficiency with eClinicalWorks (EMR/EHR)strongly preferred</li><li>Hands-on experience with clearinghouses such as Jopari and Waystarstrongly preferred</li><li>Excellent understanding of EOBs, fee schedules, and Workers&rsquo; Compensation reimbursement rules</li><li>Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications (Plus Factors)<ul><li>Experience with New York Workers&rsquo; Compensation, Department of Labor,and other state systems</li><li>Certified Professional Coder (CPC)certification</li><li>Orthopedic or specialty practice billing background</li></ul>What We Offer<ul><li>Full-time, stable position at our West Orange, NJoffice</li><li>Competitive compensation based on experience</li><li>Supportive, professional work environment</li><li>Opportunity to be part of a growing, well-established specialty practice</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $24.25 - $28.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Workers' compensation: 5 years (Required)</li><li>Medical billing: 5 years (Required)</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>Certified Professional Coder (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
