Role</div>
Global Procurement is a key enabler of Genmab&rsquo;s strategic transformation &ndash; supporting speed, operational efficiency, and financial performance. As Genmab scales and accelerates its pipeline, Procurement plays a pivotal role in driving time-to-market for new therapies through optimized sourcing strategies, digital solutions, and strategic partnerships.

As a Category Lead, you will play a key role in shaping and executing strategic sourcing initiatives within the commercial area. You will be responsible for developing category strategies, leading supplier negotiations, and managing end-to-end procurement processes. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will ensure that sourcing activities align with business needs while delivering cost efficiencies, compliance, and value.
You will join a Global Procurement team and report to the Senior Director, Global Procurement, Commercial Services. The postion is an onsite postion in Prinston USA<div>
Responsibilities</div><div>
Category Strategy Development</div><ul><li>
Define and implement sourcing strategies for the commercial categories</li><li>
Analyze internal demand and external market trends to set long-term category direction.</li><li>
Identify opportunities for cost savings, supplier consolidation, and value generation.</li></ul><div>
Supplier Management</div><ul><li>
Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and performance management.</li><li>
Build strong relationships with strategic suppliers.</li><li>
Monitor KPIs and SLAs, conduct regular reviews, and manage risk.</li></ul><div>
Stakeholder Engagement</div><ul><li>
Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs.</li><li>
Act as a trusted partner to business units on sourcing and commercial matters.</li><li>
Align procurement strategies with business objectives.</li></ul><div>
RFPs and Contract Management</div><ul><li>
Prepare and run (RFP, RFI) processes.</li><li>
Evaluate bids and conduct negotiations.</li><li>
Manage contracts from creation to execution, ensuring compliance and tracking milestones.</li></ul><div>
Spend Analysis and Reporting</div><ul><li>
Analyze category spend, identify trends, and track savings.</li><li>
Provide regular updates to leadership on category performance.</li><li>
Utilize procurement tools and dashboards for visibility and decision-making.</li></ul><div>
Procurement Support</div><ul><li>
Support ad hoc procurement projects across the organization.</li><li>
Contribute to cross-category initiatives, including process improvements and supplier evaluations.</li><li>
Assist other category teams as needed.</li></ul><div>
Key Skills &amp; Competencies</div><ul><li>
Strong ability to develop and execute category strategies.</li><li>
Skilled negotiator with experience securing commercially valuable agreements.</li><li>
Proficient in spend analysis, market insight interpretation, and supplier performance management.</li><li>
Effective stakeholder engagement skills across functions and geographies.</li><li>
Proficiency in e-procurement platforms (SAP, Coupa, or similar).</li></ul><div>
Requirements</div><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or equivalent and 8+ years of industry related experience or 10+ years of Strategic Procurement experience, preferably from Pharma/Biotech</li><li>
Strong knowledge of category management and strategic sourcing.</li><li>
Proven ability to develop and execute category strategies</li><li>
Skilled negotiator with experience securing commercially valuable agreements</li><li>
Experience working in global and virtual cross-functional teams..</li><li>
Proficient in spend analysis, market insight interpretation, and supplier performance management</li><li>
Effective stakeholder engagement skills across functions and geographies</li><li>
Proficiency in e-procurement platforms (SAP, Coupa, or similar)</li><li>
Fluent in English; both oral and written</li></ul>
For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:
$148,000.00-$222,000.00
The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
