 Georgia-Pacific is currently seeking a Regional Purchasing Manager for our containerboard operations. The ideal candidate is a talented leader with both strategic and tactical purchasing and inventory experience, has proven supervisory experience, has a track record of creating value through building strong working relationships with a diverse group of customers, has demonstrated a principled entrepreneurial mindset, and possesses the ability to build a capability that delivers a supply chain with an optimized total cost of ownership to operations. This role reports to the Procurement Director, Containerboard and Cellulose.
 
 
 This is an onsite role that can be based at GP Center in downtown Atlanta, GA, or one of our manufacturing facilities located in Monticello, MS, Toledo, OR, Brewton, AL, or Big Island, VA. This role will travel ~30-50% of the time.

The SS&amp;P organization partners with our business partners and leverages best practices to uniquely position the team to improve decision making capabilities and capture significant savings and efficiency opportunities.
 
 
 
 What You Will Do
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Manage and lead direct reports leveraging principle based management and role of a supervisor (create inclusive environment, build high performing team, help employees self actualize)
 </li>
 <li>
 Leverage comparative advantage of the team and adjust RRE&rsquo;s to maximize results for GP
 </li>
 <li>
 Connect team to SS&amp;P vision, operations vision, accelerated sourcing transformation, accelerated manufacturing transformation and how roles directly impact our ability to achieve the bets
 </li>
 <li>
 Contribute as a key member of the SS&amp;P organization and the containerboard leadership teams and own strategic business responsibilities as designated by senior management.
 </li>
 <li>
 Organize the team to execute standard work processes and achieve disciplined operations in Sourcing Execution
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage and be accountable for containerboard spend against defined buying channels, category strategies and financial controls.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage and be accountable for purchasing operations across a multiple number of facilities with high levels of spend in high volume, multi-commodity environments.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop strong partnerships internally and externally, aligning with strategic initiatives, commitments and supply chain strategies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Lead a team of purchasing professionals to excellence in stewardship
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure purchasing departments are disciplined, optimized, reliable, support a defined asset maintenance work process and are supported by corporate leadership and mill operation teams.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop category strategies where applicable
 </li>
 <li>
 Drive purchasing and inventory transformation, implement changes, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop and maintain strong partnerships internally and externally, aligning with strategic initiatives, commitments and supply chain strategies.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 3 years of purchasing management or category management experience
 </li>
 <li>
 Supervisory experience
 </li>
 <li>
 Demonstrated experience in driving transformation and implementing changes
 </li>
 <li>
 Willing and able to travel 30-50% of the time
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 What Will Put You Ahead

 Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with ISO standards, 5S, and/or Lean Six Sigma
 </li>

 Capital Procurement Manager
 
 for its Project Sourcing and Procurement Team. The Capital Procurement Manager will report to the Project Sourcing and Procurement Team Leader and is responsible for overseeing the sourcing of capital equipment and hiring contractors for various projects. This role is critical in ensuring projects are developed and executed in alignment with key project objectives.
 
 
 The ideal candidate is expected to be part of a project team and work closely with Project Managers and relevant stakeholders. The individual must demonstrate a high sense of urgency and possess the ability to solve problems to meet the needs of internal customers.
 
 
 Additionally, the Capital Procurement Manager will drive and standardize process improvements while introducing innovative solutions to recurring challenges. Success in this role requires a proactive approach and the ability to present and implement effective solutions.
 
 
 This role is based at GP Center in downtown Atlanta, GA or an approved GP location and involves, on average, 20% travel. However, travel may increase up to 50% based on project requirements.

 Manage multiple projects with some guidance from others

 Issue purchase orders through local ERP systems

 Ensure equipment delivery dates meet customer needs for projects

 Executes sourcing activities related to goods or services for projects

 Negotiate and execute contract agreements with external vendors

 Managing ongoing project relationships
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with internal requestors to understand requirements (e.g., specifications, scopes of work, performance, and timing requirements)

 Ensures the contractual document accurately reflects the terms and conditions of purchase, including payment terms, freight terms, incoterms, and other key commercial terms
 </li>
 <li>
 Analyzes root causes of accounts payable exceptions and takes steps to resolve and prevent
 </li>
 <li>
 Be a source of knowledge on project sourcing and procurement processes necessary to execute projects, including best practices, system knowledge, category summaries, procurement expectations, etc. , and champion change to those processes

 <li>
 Ensures adherence to all safety, environmental, and purchasing policies and guidelines
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage time to accomplish a variety of tasks with a sense of urgency
 </li>
 <li>
 Uses strong verbal and written communication skills to solve problems and provide status updates to customers and suppliers (e.g., commitment dates)

 Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or at least 5 years of experience in purchasing or a similar field (e.g. industrial/manufacturing project team support, storeroom, inside sales, or supply chain)
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word (document creation), Excel (spreadsheets), Outlook (email and calendar), and PowerPoint (presentations)
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience working with GP systems, tools, and processes
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 What Will Put You Ahead

 5 years of experience in Procurement, Project Management, Operations, Supply Chain, or Accounting

 Bachelor's degree in supply chain or logistics

 Passport, SAP, and/or Ariba system knowledge
 </li>
 <li>
