Mechanical Design Engineer (SolidWorks)Location: Umm Al Quwain (GET Fabrication &ndash; Workshop &amp; Project-Based Support)Role PurposeThe Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for accurate and production-ready SolidWorks drawings that directly support fabrication activities at GET Fabrication.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign &amp; Engineering<ul><li>Develop 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings using SolidWorks for:</li><li>Diesel storage tanks (bulk, day tanks, bunded tanks)</li><li>Trailers</li><li>Acoustic enclosures, canopies, containers</li><li>Battery racks, louvers, ducting, silencers, exhaust systems</li></ul>Fabrication Support<ul><li>Produce shop drawings, cutting lists, and BOMs (Bills of Materials) ready for production</li><li>Coordinate closely with:</li><li>Fabrication supervisors</li><li>Production Supervisor</li><li>Procurment &amp; Logistic Manager</li><li>QC and painting teams</li><li>Support estimation</li><li>Revise drawings based on actual workshop feedback, not assumptions</li><li>Attend fabrication discussions when design clarification is required</li></ul>Documentation &amp; Control<ul><li>Maintain drawing registers, revision control, and as-built drawings</li><li>Prepare:</li><li>Nameplates and data plates</li><li>Sticker layouts and labels</li><li>Ensure all issued drawings are correct, approved, and traceable</li></ul>Authority &amp; Accountability<ul><li>Fully accountable for drawing accuracy</li><li>Responsible for reducing:</li><li>Fabrication errors</li><li>Revisions caused by poor design</li><li>Expected to flag design issues early</li></ul>Required Skills &amp; Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Mechanical Engineering</li><li>Minimum 3&ndash;5 years experience in fabrication or heavy engineering environment</li><li>Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks</li><li>Strong understanding of:</li><li>Sheet metal fabrication</li><li>Welding practices</li><li>Structural steel</li><li>Tanks and enclosures</li><li>Ability to read and interpret client specifications and GA drawings</li></ul>Personal Attributes (Non-Negotiable)<ul><li>Detail-oriented &mdash; misses are costly</li><li>Takes ownership &mdash; excuses are not part of the role</li><li>Practical mindset &mdash; designs must work on the shop floor</li><li>Can handle pressure and multiple priorities</li><li>Willing to learn from fabrication feedback</li></ul>Performance Measurement<ul><li>Accuracy and completeness of drawings</li><li>Number of fabrication-related revisions</li><li>Timely delivery of drawings aligned with production schedule</li><li>Feedback from fabrication and QC teams</li></ul>At GET Fabrication, this engineer is expected to design, support, fix, and improve &mdash; with full accountability for what goes to the workshop.Job Type: Full-timePay: AED2,000.00 - AED3,000.00 per monthEducation:<ul><li>Bachelor's (Required)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>solidwork : 3 years (Required)</li></ul>Language:<ul><li>&amp; Write English Fluently (Required)</li></ul>
