Gibbs Wire and Steel

<div>Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Maintains machine production goals, according to company core values (safety, employee engagement, quality, on time delivery, maximize profit).</li>
<li>Reports issues and urgent items to Production Manager and fellow supervisors.</li>
<li>Works with Sales, Engineering, and Quality to answer all questions related to production scheduling, lead times, machine readiness, and material conditions.</li>
<li>Aids in the development, management, and the implementation of Production Policies and Procedures.</li>
<li>Complies with, demonstrates, and imposes all company safety rules and regulations; audits, reviews and edits JSA&rsquo;s.</li>
<li>Inspects and monitors work areas and employees&rsquo; behaviors for unsafe acts or unsafe conditions and takes corrective actions.</li>
<li>Reviews jobs for appropriate specifications and the department&rsquo;s ability to run them when new orders are placed.</li>
<li>Communicates production schedules with the previous and following shift.</li>
<li>Coach employees in all areas of work to promote a productive working environment.</li>
<li>Assess shift employees&rsquo; performances and prepare annual evaluation reports.</li>
<li>Initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, or disciplinary measures.</li>
<li>Monitors and tracks daily attendance of all employees on shift.</li>
<li>Issues maintenance work orders if necessary to ensure efficient operation of machinery.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain training plans for employee skill development.</li>
<li>Participates in rotation of supervisors to ensure 2nd shift has a resource to call on nights.</li>
<li>Learn how to operate machines and apply problem solving techniques when issues arise.</li>
</ul>
Required Education and Experience:
<ul>
<li>HS Diploma/GED required.</li>
<li>At least 2 years of related leadership experience in a high-speed, high-volume working environment.</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
<ul>
<li>Comprehensive understanding of production operations, logistics and equipment</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li>
<li>Microsoft Office skills with a working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook</li>
<li>Overtime and weekend work could be required</li>
<li>Ability to work effectively with all other employees</li>
<li>Continuous process improvement will be required</li>
<li>Strong organizational skills</li>
<li>A positive attitude</li>
<li>The capacity and desire to learn</li>
<li>The ability to pass both a pre-employment background and drug screening</li>
</ul>
Working Conditions (Including Physical and Mental Demands):
<ul>
<li>Manual dexterity for use of computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed</li>
<li>Ability to speak, hear and interpret sounds and speech</li>
<li>Must be able to sit, stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per day, occasionally 8+ hours, occasionally position will require stooping, kneeling or crouching for less than 8 hours per day</li>
<li>Ability to carry up to 50 lbs.</li>
<li>Work environment is consistent with an office setting</li>
<li>Occasional exposure to loud noises.</li>
